  1. The opponants “Not the time” argument is a Trojan Horse for never. It is false. Three years ago the then Republican governor Tim Pawlenty VETOED modest and humane protections for LGBT families. Two years ago the opposition tried to put their bigotry into our state Constitution and none of them support even civil unions. It is time for the age of bigotry to die, perhaps on the very cross that promotes it. I will be there to witness history and justice “for all.”

Wendy, I grew up in Alaska but I was born in Minnesota. I now live in London, England and I will be cheering everyone in your capitol as your Senators take this critical vote. My husband and I (married in Canada) were the plaintiffs in Alaska for marriage equality back in the 90s. Our case won in lower court only to have a constitutional amendment stop it.

it wasn’t long after that we left Alaska and the US and came to the UK — my husband is dual-national Irish and American. It’s good here and more so because there are laws supporting LGBT equality.

Now for marriage here and in Minnesota; that will be a wonderful thing to achieve for us and all those who will come after us.

One last thing, if you read this, would you please write down our names and carry them with you if you go to a rally or the capitol? We’d love to be with all of you in this little way. Thank you.

With love to all in Minnesota, from Jacob and Eugene.

I just LOVE the comments from Wendy and Jacob Dugan-Brause ! I do wish love and bright days will be your guiding stars in the future ! So many nice sisters and brothers all around the World. This fact makes me happy – Cross my fingers for Minnesota. Warm wishes from Norway !

  3. I am a Brit lived in MN for 13 years with my soon to be husband who is a native Minnesotan. To go from beating a constitutional amendment 2 years ago to equal Marriage in August this year is an amazing feat …. the Senate says it has the votes to pass, the governor has his pen ready so I am so excited. The rainbow flag will be flying high when this bill is done and dusted and signed.

Go for it Minnesota. We only need one more State after afterwards to legalise gay marriage to pass the important threshold of having more than a quarter of States having marriage equality.
Just to remind you, if the US Constitution is to be amended, at least 38 States (or more than 75%) have to ratify the Amendment after it is approved by two-thirds of Congress.

This too shall PASS! You will win, Minnesota and so too will we in the UK? With YOU in solidarity!

Minnesota will become the first US state at a legislature body level (not on a judiciary body level such as Massacusetts and Iowa) to go from no recognition of same sex couples what so ever – to full marriage equality…

Minnesota as well does sit right between Iowa and Canada of course as well just to Point that out…

Gee wizz both the United Kingdom and Illinois same sex marriage bills are the slowest in the world – because those same sex marriage bills have been sitting there in the lower house for months now doing nothing – all because the government is afraid of losing a vote or too…

Then you have Australia (UK Penal Convict Land or New Holland) the most racist, xenophobic, hateful and homophobic convict society to ever be on the western world!!!!!

Even the left-wing Labor Party and the leader of that party called JuLIAR is an atheist, unmarried still by having a live-in boyfriend as a hairdresser and a former communist opposes same sex marriage equality…

  7. See the live debate and vote at http://www.senate.mn/media/flashvideo.php

Finger crossed for another victory coming up soon !

  8. We’ve won again !

Minnesota has passed Equal Marriage by 37 to 30 ! :-)
