There’s no “grand vision” in this faltering move towards equality in the USA. Americans are depending on a State by State cascade over time. Very unsatisfactory.

Give it time. Momentum is building. Also the Supreme Court ruling could suddenly change the landscape completely. When the moment comes everything will start falling into place.

They are two votes short I am told by several other gay activist people – 58 out of 60 needed to pass in the House.

The UK House of Commons also has a bill on marriage equality sitting there on the “committee stage” for months now as well…

Maybe there was no enough votes to pass the “Committee stage” in the UK???

In the US, Committee Stages are before the Floor vote, in the UK it is strangely after the floor vote???…
