  1. Once again the Scandinavian people showing the world what truly means being a “human being”. The world could learn a few lessons from our brothers from the north.

I would agree with you completely if it weren’t for the whale slaughter thing. That to me says their humanity is as limited as for the rest of us.

      1. You’re both right. Human beings are simultaneously capable of enlightenment and flaws. We’ll take what we can get, step at a time.

Besides, the eastern half of Scandinavia does not practice whaling anymore.

Faroe Islands, Greenland and Denmark are the three constituent countries within the Kingdom of Denmark. Laws enacted by the Parliament of Denmark are not valid in the full Kingdom, especially those involving civil law, unless the other countries adopt them as well. After civil unions were introduced in mainland Denmark, Greenland later adopted similar laws but Faroe Islands did not. Neither Greenland nor Faroe Islands has yet adopted the equal marriage law in force in Denmark proper.

With such strong support for marriage equality, there is no reason why the Faroe Islands shouldn’t go for it. If Tinganes in Tórshavn drag their feet then Denmark should spur things along. And there is no reason why marriage equality shouldn’t be extended to Greenland as well.
By the way that disgusting Keith has been trolling the comments on the Belize article. I was going to post something on it but do not wish to encourage him so I suggest that we all vote him down instead. Do not feed the troll.
