    Can’t they have an amendment to cut the pay of legislators who deliberately waste session time with ridiculous Waaaaah-Wahhhh-I-didn’t-get-my-own-way bills?

  2. Some people are just sad. Do you really want that to go down as your legacy.

Here in Utah, we have come to call these pieces of legislation “message bills”, because the legislature lawyers tell them point blank it can’t survive a court challenge, but these bills are crafted out as token expressions of contempt more than anything else. It’s an expensive tax-funded expression of “I hate you and everything you stand for”.

  4. I say that there should be a bill that ties ALL senators, governors, congress persons’ salaries to national finances…

    If the national economy is suffering, then their pay should be indexed to that. If the economy does well, THEN they can get raises.

    These people are responsible for how the economy is doing and should suffer the consequences, not just reap undeserved rewards.
