Is ‘Blatta’ Blatter in an English accent?

  2. Not convinced this is a news story

    1. And I think you’ve spelled Sepp Blatter’s name incorrectly

      1. It’s OK now

  3. Is this news? I am sure sometimes that PinkNews just have google alerts for the words “gay” and “Queer” and just fill up the site with nonsense.

  4. How can a slip of a tongue become a news worthy item – truly bizarre

It’s funny. No harm. My son’s girlfriend is a Sky News producer. I’ll ask her to make sure this sort of thing never happens again. Have a nice day.

So what if he called him queer, the word was around long before it was used as a gay slur.

The OED states that the definition of queer as an adjective, queer is originally defined as “strange, eccentric, suspicious, or dubious.”

    1. That’s true; when my mother was pregnant with me, she was heard to have said, “I feel a little queer.” Turns out she was right, but she didn’t know it at the time :)

I think this could be classed as a ‘funny item’, and I can’t see any problem with Pink News covering it.

Sometimes we should lighten up a bit. PN does a fairly excellent job in news aggregation. It doesn’t all have to be ‘important’.

    1. I agree that PN should cover lighter stories too. But I did feel that, in this case, the headline is misleading.
