Very good to see. A step in the right direction for the republican party. I hope it emboldens those afraid of the right wing elements within their ranks to step forward as some in our own Tory party did, almost half of them.

  2. No matter what your party or politics, if you are elected to represent the people your should be making a vote of conscience. When it comes to human rights it is of little consequence that the vote may be representative of a minority vs majority.. one expects a reasonable and rational person to do what is honorable.

In every aspect of life fund raisers are essential to exist, whether you support events, causes or charity. How ever when funds are made available to influence voting or change of opinion, it contributes to nothing more than corruption.

A politician of any party is elected. and paid a salary… that should be sufficient. If it takes money to influence how you vote… you can’t have a conscience vote because your influence is not human rights but financial gain!

It’s commendable that some one is lending support… but it’s hardly the way to appropriately address the inequities of human rights.

  3. So I see the symbol of the Republican Party is still an elephant. It should be a mammoth. It combines more with them.

Must admit I had to check this headline a few times before I could beleive it ! If true, and I hope it is, it couid be the start of more enlightened times for the Republicans. They have probably realised that no one will vote for them if they let their looney right wingers make all their news.
