BEAUTIFUL, full support from many organizations all around the World. Now my heart has to beat for Japan, too. A great pleasure !

  2. I don’t even know where to begin. The organizer is quoted as saying “‘This is our first attempt to link up with many groups’ of sexual minorities,” but I am not sure what they mean by “our” because there have been pride parades in Japan for about 10 years. Also, the author of the article says Japan’s first openly gay politician was elected last year, but that’s very wrong. There was a lesbian politician before this, and she was out to the public. Trans politicians had existed from even before, and I think they deserve at least a mention in this kind of news article. Last but not least, the couple’s wedding at Tokyo Disneyland surely made some queers in Japan uneasy and uncomfortable as it perpetuates the system of marriage in which some mainstream gay activists are trying to include themselves. Overall, this article ignores important history——queer history in Japan in particular——and erases the diversity of opinions among queers in Japan.

  3. Oh, and I just noticed but, this verification system that you use for commenting (“What is 2 + 5?”) is able-ist. I hope you will implement something more inclusive, that anyone who is interested in queer topics, regardless of ability, can use.
