  1. This as good as guarantees passage if it reaches a vote. 20/32 Democrat Senators was a bit iffy, but 15/32 is more than achievable.

There’s something wrong with the world when the Republicans are more progressive than the Democrats. Hopefully this will jolt them into action.

    1. What makes you say the Republicans are more progressive in this particular case or on this issue in general? Democrats initiated this legislation in Rhode Island. And as for nationally, the Republicans are a total disgrace.

Just in this case, I’m not getting ahead of myself. And Democrats may have initiated this legislation but it’s also Democrats holding it up. In a liberal north eastern state with massive Democratic majorities in both chambers and a receptive governor eager to sign the law it is shameful that those Democrats continue to hold the process up while all Republicans are in favour.

In convict land (other wise known as new Holland or Australia) both parties OPPOSE same-sex marriage and NOTHING at all gets passed on LGBT rights or any bills on LGBT rights!

Australia is well known as the hateful, bigoted, racist, homophobic and xenophobic and even islamophobic as well!

Well done Rhode Island Republicans on passing a SSM resolution, also a couple of years back DC Republicans also support same sex marriage in there resolutions!

Nationally speaking the Republican Party is way more progressive than the Australian Labor Party here in Australia!
