Boy band JLS will be heading this year’s Birmingham Pride as DJs along with Bananarama and a DJ set by Paloma Faith.

Other artists also confirmed to appear include X Factor finalist Rylan Clark, as well as Lucy Spraggan, Misha B and Stooshe.

Birmingham Pride takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May.

Pride Festival Director Lawrence Barton said: “As one of the largest Gay Pride events in the UK we are absolutely delighted to have pulled out all the stops this year to present our biggest ever line-up for the annual festival.

“We are expecting a record turnout. We have more than 100 artists and DJs throughout the weekend, and something for everyone.

“In a move to encourage even more families and seniors to the festival we have introduced free admission for children under 10 and seniors over 65 years of age.”

More than 50,000 people are expected to line the streets over the holiday weekend as the festival kicks off with the annual Carnival Parade at midday on Saturday, passing through the city centre.
