  1. They’re so brave to wear masks. Maybe next time they can wear pointy white hoods.

    1. They prefer to keep their hatred anonymous. Says it all really.

What can they be afraid of. Gay suicide bombers?

      1. nixiotemba 19 Apr 2013, 4:49pm

yes, they will be bombed gay, lunatics

    2. Don’t fancy yours much.

  2. Marriage equality is threatening their freedom?
I don’t see how it is and they don’t seem to be explaining how it does, a very confused sort of protest, just weird really.

    1. How does gay marriage sanction their freedom…?
      I don’t think they know.
      I don’t think anyone does.

  3. Woe is them, no longer being allowed to bludgeon ‘undesirables’ with the force of the law. Whatever shall they do now?

Oh, yes, that’s it. go violent :(

  4. So they protest against us by taking OFF their tops!! How very homoerotic ;-)

    1. That was exactly my thought when I saw it :)

      1. nixiotemba 19 Apr 2013, 4:52pm

sorry but they are a sad bunch of men, specially naked, fat froggies

    2. theotherone 18 Apr 2013, 9:45pm

      my first thought.

      1. Not mine…my first thought after picking myself up off the floor was …”OMG I think I am going to be sick”

        1. My second thought was…”I almost wish I was straight…(almost)”

          1. My third thought was one of sympathy for all the women in France.

    3. Actually my thought was the misogynistic idea of it…

    4. David Myers 22 Apr 2013, 7:27am

How very ironic . . . and suspicious. What are they really trying to say? “We’re hunks, but you can’t have us, because we will beat the shit out of you?” I’ll bet the percentage of closet cases is higher in this group than the percentage of gay men in the general population.

  5. I don’t get it. Ugly men exercising their democratic right to protest but with no clear message other than: how dare gays be better looking than us!

  6. And while Freedom of Speech is admirable sentiment, Protect Kids when talking about homosexuality is betraying their real agenda. Nothing to do with marriage and everything to do with homophobia.

  7. Davey Baalmann 18 Apr 2013, 7:49pm

Biggots and homophobes, real men, gay men put a brave face out there every day. These punks are cowards and haters who need to spend some time at the gym.

  8. I agree with all the above but would add that I was amused by the S&M element of their performance, their VOLUNTARILY being bound and gagged.

And then the videographer added a syrupy soundtrack which tries to indicate to the viewer that the men are noble heroes. It’s the sort of new-age music that accompanies scenes of mass slaughter in big-production movies!

What they are saying, in effect, is: “Mr. Holland, you are taking away our SUPERIORITY over the gays!”

These men appear to feel that our equality with them will mean we will have superiority over them!

    They’re neurotic!

    1. Clever of you to notice the soundtrack, Eddy.

I could be mistaken, but this music sounds like an adaptation of the Kyrie from the Miisa Criolla written by the Argentinian, Ariel Ramirez:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZl8yMH5TLA

It could be a co-incidence that Ariel Ramirez and pope Francis are both natives of Buenos Ares, the capital of Argentina.

In that case, this dramatic anti-marriage equality demonstration in Paris sounds like it has the stamp of right-wing French catholics, using Latin American liturgical music (the Kyrie of all things!) for maximum effect.

Or am I reading too much into it ? ;P

      1. As an afterthought, there is an element of S&M in Spanish inspired catholic mentality, i.e. flagellation, blood, etc.

Makes for passionate opera too, like Carmen.

  9. topless but cover their faces….will all men stand up and be counted for their beliefs be seen and heard….wimps

  10. Robert in S. Kensington 18 Apr 2013, 8:18pm

Cowards! Disgusting to see so much hate from a young group of people.

  11. Daniel Howard 18 Apr 2013, 8:18pm

Let them protest! There’s nothing they can do because France will have equal marriage. They’re just showing themselves up as bigots and cowards to the world.

  12. maybe next time they can instead of putting yellow things around there mouths. put a butt plug up their ass. and shut the hell up.

  13. Julian Morrison 18 Apr 2013, 8:58pm

FEMEN should take a chainsaw to them.

    1. I noticed the pathetic attempt to mimic FEMEN. So they don’t just hate LGBT people, they hate women too. How pathetic!

  14. David in the O.C. 18 Apr 2013, 9:03pm

Threaten their freedom… to discriminate? Sorry, your chosen religious beliefs don’t give you that right.

  15. Mattincinci 18 Apr 2013, 9:21pm

just because a minority gains the rights you have always enjoyed does not mean your rights are suddenly threatened

  16. Now, if they all dropped their pants, that would really show us!

    1. Hope the photographer has an extremely powerful camera

  17. That There Other David 18 Apr 2013, 9:36pm

I didn’t realise Hollande was shifting the right to marry from straight to gay and making it illegal for straight men to marry.

Oh, he’s not? What the **** is all this about then?

  18. Looking at the still photo several of the men look ‘excited’ by their situation. Methinks some of them will probably be found resting in the gay bars or clubs of Paris come nightfall !

  19. Xavier Bongibault 18 Apr 2013, 10:46pm

Attractive, hot guys. Its conservative version of movement of 1968-es, 45 years after leftist “original”.

  20. Christopher in Canada 18 Apr 2013, 11:03pm

Yet more proof that more men should go to the YMCA. No wonder they hate us – their women prefer them clothed!

  21. It’s very confusing. Men taking off their shirts would seem a very gay-friendly thing to do… Anyway, I don’t get this. There’s been an election. Hollande ran on a platform supporting marriage equality and now is passing the programme the majority of the population has voted for. What do these people want?? They also fail to understand the spirit or the courage of the Femen movement. Men taking off their shirts is hardly controversial and they don’t even have the guts to show their faces. As if a country’s political agenda could be taken hostage by a bunch of secretive protesters. Show your faces and have a proper argument in support of your position. And talking about guts, for God’s sake, if you’re going to take off your shirt, hit the gym a couple of times.

    1. Jock S. Trap 19 Apr 2013, 11:01am

It would suggest these men maybe a bit more confused that they’d like to admit.

  22. Levitique 18:22 Non-plus is my response to them, although i do find their protest a bit masonic…

  23. GingerlyColors 19 Apr 2013, 9:39am

What a silly protest. We are not opposing the right of straight people to marry as we have always said all along.
As for taking shirts off in public, lets see some more of it please!

    1. Not by that lot. The fat is hanging off of them.

Clearly they have “let themselves go” since attaining their holy sacrosanct heterosexual marriages.

Do they think for one instant that gay people would give them a second glance.

      Yuck.

      1. Dave a..hmmm have you seen your own photo?

        1. Dave North 19 Apr 2013, 2:05pm

Yep. And I ain’t a fat heterosexual bigot. What’s your point..

  24. But it’s not doing anything to *your* rights. No one’s going to make you marry a man.

“Homophobic acts, violent acts have been committed. The right to protest is recognised by our constitution and accepted by the French. But no protest must degenerate.”

Unless they’re worried about their right to beat up gay people (which, newsflash, they don’t have anyway).

  25. Jock S. Trap 19 Apr 2013, 11:00am

Threaten Freedom eh? Wearing masks? Seriously?

Don’t really see how if they have no plans to marry another man.

Of course what they really mean by freedom is their right to discriminate.

  26. So much for liberty, equality and brotherhood.

    Bunch of twats…

  27. bah! Masked! And, even a gay man like me thinks that Femen have more cojones – and damn sight better physiques, too!

  28. Sorry, but heterosexual men secure in their own sexuality, couldn’t give a flying fig if anyone was gay or not. It has no effect on them at all. I know it’s an overused saying, but those who protest too much are definitely hiding something.

    1. They’re hiding something alright, take a look at their crotch!

  29. What an incredible bunch of idiots!!!!!
Clearly ‘liberte’ is for these a*holes a one-way, which definitely is not allowed for LGBTQI people.
Also, guys can mostly walk/go anywhere without a shirt and have nobody even blink. Which definitely is not what we women encounter; straight forward being arrested for indecent exposure if we are not lucky.
So, outside of the bigotry thet are showing towards LGBTQI people, they also did give a nice show or misoginy….

    1. You’re so right, a bottomless protest would have had so much moire impact…well in their case, maybe!

  30. Liberté, égalité, fraternité et aussi l’homophobie
