Well, absent equal marriage and blessings for CPs which are off the table, what could their possibly be to discuss? The CoE could get off to a good start by first condemning or repudiating the hateful, spurious rhetoric promoted by Lord Carey and other Anglicans traducing equal marriage for starters. The fact of the matter is, he won’t.

Bullying and homophobia haven’t even caught the CoE’s attention. They are part and parcel of a lot of it if you look at where it’s all emanated from. I’m scratching my head as to what will be discussed. This certainly should’t be construed as ‘reaching out’ surely?

  2. Unmarried Bishop Warner is staunchly against women bishops, and lists among his hobbies opera and cycling.

You can fill in the rest.

I’m sure he’ll feel at home at the event.

    1. He is camper than tits in person, and quite lovely.

Another laugh you’ve given me today, Tractar, thank you!

I had a good laugh at that comment, Wingby. Actually, the more I look at him I see “screamer”. A bit creepy looking though. I wonder if he knows O’Brien?

  3. Is this guy one of the 26 CoE bishops in the unelected House of Lords who has a say on our rights.

Anything less than a full endorsement by him on equal civil marriage rights is unacceptable (who cares what his church thinks – his church doesn’t own marriage.)

He’s in a church which is our official state religion (bizarre and disgusting as that sounds.)

To me the State should stay clear of religion. Get Bishops out of the HOL. This should be an elected house anyway.

This would make all sorts of rubbish religions get involved with so much easier. In todays society we have law, rights, science, medicine. I’d rather encourage people to stand up and face their issues than have them believe in a fairy story and have their money taken from them.

  4. Nod, smile, waffle. Nod, smile, waffle. Ignore, leave, forget. Hold the line.
