It is about time that these organizations are challenged on the grounds of violating human rights. California rocks!

  2. Hit them where it hurts. In the pocket.

  3. How any adult can say to a 14year old boy that he can’t be a Boy Scout because he is gay is beyond belief.

Fortunately, these adults stand on the wrong side of time. They will be remembered with the same disregard as we remember those wouldn’t let black children sit on buses or use water fountains.

  4. Good on California!

If this passes… I wonder how long it will be before the BSA responds with cries of “DISCRIMINATION!” hand them a mirror and ask them to say “Hypocrisy” and remind them what goes around comes around!

They are being given an option “Be all inclusive!” if they want to pay tax… so be it!

  5. Trust Tony Perkins — DADT didn’t work in the armed forces, why would it work in the BSA?

  6. The same should happen to anti-gay “religious” groups and churches, their tax exempt status should be repealed.

Charities with an anti-gay ethos should have their charitable status removed.

    1. Inasmuch as discriminating against a particular sector of the community cannot be said to serve the common good.
Serving the common good is supposedly a requirement for any group or organisation to be granted charitable status.

  7. I think this could be a very risky policy,
I don’t know enough about the political calculations of the pros and cons, but I’m sure this could have a large con.

    1. no-no con at all actually

  8. Now, if only they will do this to religious institutions too!

How about all the Churches as well???

Lets get rid of the tax-exemption status of churches, because they have way too money, have way too much time on there hands on bigotry, hate and not enough time on abolishing poverty and child abuse and also they are continually influencing our lawmakers in the federal and state Legislatures on passing anti-gay laws and banning SSMs!!!!!

  10. amazing news-about time-discrimination will not be tolerated in CA-now for the churches!!
