The dude who signed DOMA, really? Couldn’t they have waited a little while.

  2. But it is powerful that the man who signed DOMA in now says it is unconstitutional and should be struck down.

    1. Neon Genesis 4 Apr 2013, 8:38am

Rob Portman’s coming out in support was alot more powerful than anything Bill ever did for us.

      1. I see your point however Bill Clinton is presently acting as an advocate of change, he has admitted DOMA is wrong and should be repealed and in that light the award is properly his.

  3. Neon Genesis 4 Apr 2013, 7:43am

Sometimes I think GLAAD exists only to give awards to people who don’t deserve them. Even Hilary would have been a better choice than Bill.

  4. The author of DADT and DOMA given an award…. this degrades the worthier recipients of this award.

  5. I think it’s really easy to be supportive when you are not in power!

  6. I find this more than a little odd!

Despite that fact he may be an advocate for change, he was the one who signed DOMA in to law in the first place.

  7. Gay Activist Paul Mitchell 4 Apr 2013, 12:10pm

Bill Clinton was and still is a gutless asshole!

What a joke this man is. This man is nothing but a poor pathetic excuse as a total religious bigot who by the way SIGNED INTO LAW both DADT and DOMA back in the 1990’s. Gee wizz people do not know there history do they. Now he is out of office and powerless now ne supports same sex marriage…

Sorry Bill you get NO AWARD from me!

Bigots, hateful politicians, priests who abuse children and encourage anti-gay legislation and religious zelots should be hanged, drawn and quartered – or shoot at for target practice or better still put thought the gas chambers!

    Starting with this:
Death Penalty And Eradication For All Bigots Bill 2013
    (1) all and any bigot or religious zelot who practices, encorages, aids or abets hate crimes or anti-gay legislation, shall get the minimum penalty of death.
    (2) all bigots and religious zealots shall be banned from marriage, adoption of children.
    (3) this law is retrospective.

I agree 100% Paul. I am a gay man living in Virginia and I am sick and tired for religious bigots knocking at my front door at my house…

It is about time bigots and religious nutjobs get the death penalty!

We still have the death penalty here in Virginia. Let put it in practice right now and eradicate some bigots for the good of gay society and there human rights!

    2. Travis of Sydney 4 Apr 2013, 12:35pm

All gay men and lesbians should kidnap Bill Clinton and give him the death penalty for his crime of signing both DOMA and DADT into law. He should be hung, drawn and quartered in a public arena were every gay man and lesbian is invited to throw pointy stones at him as well!

He is a total asshole and bigot, because I never will forget what he did back in 1990’s and me and my American boyfriend is not allowed joint immigration status and a host of other 1,157 rights, benefits and obligations, etc because of it!

      1. Neon Genesis 5 Apr 2013, 12:17am

While I don’t like Bill Clinton’s homophobia, I find your calls for violence against him to be as disturbing as any homophobic violence and you should be banned from this site for it.

  8. Mark of Melbourne 4 Apr 2013, 12:42pm

All gay men and lesbians should get a gun with a silencer and a laser guided system and hopefully assassinate Bill Clinton to a thousand pieces!

Conservatives and Republicans had the exact same idea with the Heath Care Legislation!

  9. Shane of Tacoma 4 Apr 2013, 12:46pm

He should have been assassinated when he was US President!

What a sham he is still alive…

  10. Paul and Scott 4 Apr 2013, 12:50pm

    News just in:

Adolf Hitler now openly supports and welcomes Jewish people!

What a joke that Bill Clinton gets an award…

  11. Really? This is the guy who gave us Don’t Ask/ Don’t Tell and DOMA…

He admitted his wrongs only when out of office and no longer eligible for any political position basically. Nowadays it is safe (ish) for a US politician to be supporting of Gay Rights (GLBT I mean, but am lazy to type it out.)

How quickly we forgive and forget.

What about the true champions of this fight, versus the turncoats?

  12. Its funny a lot of the comments before me have to do with. “he put D.O.M.A. in place, And he’s getting an award. Insert laugh here _____”. But since’s im into politics some should think GLAAD is doing this not only because Clinton endorsed equal marriage and his wife have become straight activist but more of a strategic move for his wife to run in 2014. If we want gay rights in any country you need to play the game if that is getting your allies close. You scratch my back i scratch yours. This will secure his wife demographics with the LGBT community and make her look endearing. Read between the line people.

    1. …or between the sheets like Monica Lewinsky! he’s a joker Sam, and a manipulative one at that. don’t fall for him Sam!

  13. It is sad for GLAAD to award Bill Clinton the award. If he thinks DOMA is unconstitutional today, why didn’t he think it was unconstitutional in 1996. His endorsement today is nothing more than to help his wife, Hillary, get elected as the next U.S. president. Because he came out for same-sex marriage may help me vote against Hillary!

    1. No way, As of right now she is really the only Democrat that has a high approval rating, in ratio polls she does better then any republicans who will run in 2014. I can’t see the country going back to the GOP conservative anti gay rederick. It will take gay rights away, women rights they will try to stop momentum. A vote for Hillary is a vote for equality.

  14. Christopher Coleman 4 Apr 2013, 5:32pm

Clinton has a Foundation and it will probably donate to GLAAD. This award is not very different from the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Obama. People in high places seem to attract gifts. If you are a nobody doing good works society doesn’t even see you as it walks all over you.
