This distateful stampede to stuff people into pigeon-holes and judge their sexuality by the way they look or present themselves is just getting so nauseating, and Pink News is as much a culprit in this rush to judgement as anyone.

Just leave people to be and to decide for themselves who they sexually; which may or may not even include rigidly defining themselves as gay or straight when sexuality is in fact for most people a fluid thing that goes beyond labels and self-imposed constructs.

Let ‘em just be, say I!

    1. Very well said!

  2. The guy is cool with gay people and playing gay characters. That’s good enough for me.

    1. It’s nice, but it’s also a bit sad that we think it’s ‘good enough’ – he is an actor after all, why should it be an issue to play a gay character? I’m sure he’d also be happy to play a slobbish rapist (Stanley in Streetcar Named Desire) or an ambitious if henpecked murderer (Macbeth) or, indeed, a shiftless thug like his EastEnders character. It’s such a shame portraying a gay character is still seen as some sort of gigantic challenge for someone whose job it is to act.

      1. That’s kind of my point- it’s not an issue at all, for him- unlike a lot of insecure straight actors.

  3. Never watch the Enders these days…but he does look fit!

  4. “Broaden your mind a touch.” Such good advice. Gotta appreciate that is his view – instead of the more oft seen no-I’m-not-gay panic.

  5. I hear a publicity machine chugging away in the background of this story.

There it is again – PN have cited, and linked to, the original source of their story! And it’s not just one copywriter doing it. Is this a much called for change in editorial standards?

  7. ..having a good physique and face and being on tv..honestly how many times are we all going to say OH! yes he must be gay! Things, people, situations etc are a lot different and more complicated than you originally thought! Get a life Pleease!!

  8. I love him even more now
