  1. Why can’t we all get along?

    1. johnny33308 31 Mar 2013, 6:34pm

We can all get along as long as everyone minds their OWN business and stays out of the lives of those who do not wish them to intrude there. Also, they must accept that LGBT people are here to stay and we will never cease our struggle for Equal Civil Rights, EXACTLY the same Civil Rights as heterosexuals already enjoy and have done for such a very long time. Simple, really…the kkkristians need to STFU about our lives, which they know absolutely NOTHING about….they are grossly offensive on every level. When the religious cease trying to force their narrow bigoted views upon our entire civil society, we will all get along just fine.

      1. johnny33308 31 Mar 2013, 7:44pm

ahhh….so you are self-appointed to remind all of us “immoral” people how wrong we are? Or is it some 2000 yr old story that presumes to judge whether or not what we do is ‘moral’ or ‘immoral’…..immorality is judging others, immorality is wishing bad things upon others, hatred and bigotry are immoral, as is ANYTHING except LOVE….period! Morality is not hurting others, morality is putting the happiness of others before your own, morality is always offering a helping hand without being asked to do so, morality is wishing others well, no matter even if they in your judgment are not ‘worthy’ of such well wishes. Morality is simply treating others in the way you wish yourself to be treated. Anything else is just obviously WRONG! Your ‘name’ betrays your less than positive agenda, your judgmental agenda, in fact….sad for you and all like you, as you could all focus on your own lives rather than those you enjoy judging…just sayin, your judgment is neither wanted and nor accepted….

      2. Listening to people like you the proverbial martian would assume that the only immorality is what you perceive as sexual immorality. Completely obsessed with it. On any other issue you would probably struggle to see a “moral” dimension.

      3. How do you get to decide what is “unnatural”?

You obviously think it is your duty to be disgusted. Fine, just be disgusted in the privacy of your own home.

There is no law against consenting adults being disgusted in their own bedrooms.

I do wonder though why you are seeking out things to be disgusted about. Do you not have anything better to do? Growing Sweet Peas for example?

    2. We can’t all get along because of the religious tyranny of uncompromising folk like Lord Carey who want everything their way .

  2. Why can we all not get along?

  3. Sorry 4 double post.

  4. johnny33308 31 Mar 2013, 6:26pm

In fact all of these self-identified ‘christians’ need to stop thinking about the sex lives of LGBT people since it is NONE of their business to begin with. They are totally obsessed in a rather unhealthy way about our sex lives and this makes them act in obscene ways and quite negatively when they should not even be involved in our Civil lives at all. Keep religion out of our Secular society, or risk an even more serous backlash against it’s evil, anti-human agenda. Such bigotry in the name of their ‘god’ is pure blasphemy, and we are well past accepting or even tolerating their evil intrusions where they do NOT belong (in all our lives)!

    1. I am not sure I have ever wondered or had the slightest interest in what christians get up to in bed.

  5. Brett Gibson 31 Mar 2013, 6:38pm

It’s not marginalising christians at all, it’s just the government of this country is finally realising that being religious is a CHOICE and a PERSONAL belief system which has no place in the world of law and governance. For too long have christians and other religions rammed their beliefs down the throats of others and expected them to live by their rules, forever trying to shoot down new laws and movements which bring peace and equality to our society. The only thing that is being marginalised is their own intolerance and hatred towards others. If you want to believe what a 2000 year old fictional book tells you, champion, but don’t expect me to partake in your own fool-headed stupidity. Peace.

  6. seems that, as well as his anachronistic ‘good’ book, his views are not fit for 21st century! and judging by some of the quotes in response, it isn’t worth having a dig! just leave the churchy folk to rip him apart! fun on a sunday!

  7. It was an insult to people who really are persecuted.

  8. dorset bob 31 Mar 2013, 8:03pm

Lord Cary starting to sound more and more like cardinal Kieth Obrian—— ooooo I wonder ?????

    1. Perhaps hard to imagine now but Lord Carey had very full and voluptuous lips when he was a bit younger, I’ll say no more.

  9. Paul Brownsey 31 Mar 2013, 8:03pm

From the fact that someone *feels* persecuted, it does not follow that they *are* persecuted, any more than from the fact that I *feel* I’m floating it follows that I really *am* floating.

  10. christians should be marginalised, it is their proper place. They are in fact marginal.

They have had too loud a voice for far too long. Let them get on with their mumbo jumbo in private and keep their opinions to themselves.

  11. Try a cold shower and/or a hard workout. Get these images out of your head.

    1. I wondered how long it’d take poor wee Keith’s coprophile obsessions to resurface: not even 24 hours this time. Sad little cockroach.

      1. I was speaking of you not to you, you sad little insect, as none of your deranged drivel is worthy of attention.

    2. Robert in S. Kensington 31 Mar 2013, 9:59pm

Don’t engage this sick troll, he feeds on it.

  12. His obsession with homosexuality reminds me of another religious leader who’s been in the news a lot lately.

Let’s see, what was his name again?

    Oh yeah, Cardinal Keith O’Brien!

    Just sayin!

    1. Robert in S. Kensington 31 Mar 2013, 10:00pm

I call it O’Brien syndrome, rife among catholic clergy, especially the hierarchy.

  13. Who does he think he is? Cardinal O’Brien!

  14. You sound like your looking for approval of something you’re already doing rather than posing a question for consideration.

I suggest you contact a psychiatric professional who is trained and licensed to deal with your paraphilias.

  15. The govt bends over backwards to provide opt out for Churches in its legislations. The SSM ibill s almost entirely about the churches opt outs. What more do they want!

They not only get the British law to protect their rights but they are fully protected by the ECHR. Honestly in what way could we possible legally persecute the “Christian”. The protections for LGBT people with the UK and in Europe is pathetic in comparison.

  16. George Carey & his type of ‘christian’ marginalise themselves – its what they’re all about. They feel this need to be martyrs. If they weren’t unpopular and at odds with society they’d feel they were failing somehow.

The more David Cameron tries to be nice to them and include them in the big society the more they will hate him for it.

  17. Robert in S. Kensington 31 Mar 2013, 10:03pm

About time decent Anglican clergy started bashing back at the bigots among them. Long overdue and most welcome. Carey really does protest too much and we all know what that implies. He’d better be very careful and keep his mouth shut or else it could be his undoing after the O’Brien debacle.

    1. no, actually, that’s NOT what the Bible says.
it’s what your bad translation says.
      There’s a major difference.

The Bible actually says absolutely nothing about homosexuality. Nothing at all. And worse yet, Jesus himself says absolutely nothing about homosexuality.

Jesus did, however, clearly state that divorce was wrong. He condemned it in the strongest terms.

Funny that he should condemn divorce directly, in strong terms.. yet never mention a single thing about homosexuality.

No part of the New Testament that directly relates to Jesus mentions homosexuality.
And those parts that DO, don’t. They are bad translations.

Did you know that lying is a sin?
A bad translation that PURPOSEFULLY translates a term incorrectly, is a lie. And THAT is most definitely a sin, and clearly labelled as such in the Bible.

I am SO sick of people calling themselves Christians having not even the most rudimentary knowledge of their own Holy book.

By the way, Keith: you’re an idiot.

  18. Carey does not get it that ‘many Christians’ does not mean all Christians, he needs to move on from campaigning for what is a minority within a minority.

    1. For that matter, “many Christians” does not even translate as “majority of Christians”.

  19. LMFAO

Giles Fraser, former Canon Chancellor of St
    Paul’s Cathedral, said: ”I think it’s a very peculiar
Easter message. I think Lord Carey is obsessed
by gay sex and really ought to get over it.”

  20. Jock S. Trap 1 Apr 2013, 10:25am

Indeed… I think Christians who support such faith should seriously ask the question as to why these people are so obsessed with the LGBT community?

    Hiding something one wonders!

They’re just a little too obsessed. Time for them to get over it!!

    1. Carey loves the cock, what else can we say lol

  21. Garry Cassell 1 Apr 2013, 3:49pm

Lord Carey, you’re no lord…governments are elected to govern and speak for the people that elect them…Carey you are not elected for anything and therefore you have no right to sit in House of Lords…that is not a church and NOBODY gave you authority to speak for them..So why don’t you just shut up…

  22. “Lord Carey should get over his obsession with gay sex”. Funny, one of my Anglican clergy friend once told a colleague that he is so obsessed by gay sex that she wonder if it was because he is jealous of gay sexual practice and that maybe he should try to get f*** once… maybe he would love it and turn gay. Maybe we should suggest the same to Lord Carey!

  23. Diesel Balaam 1 Apr 2013, 11:13pm

Lord Carey is beginning to look like a crank banging on about gay marriage and how it’s supposedly “persecuting Christians”. What he means is, they no longer have free rein to discriminate against gay people. For the record, when Christians held all the power in our society, many groups were persecuted and even burnt at the stake
