  1. I wonder if a certain LGBT rights campaigner considers this Mail article to be fair game under freedom of speech. How many more lives will be lost because people are absolutely incapable of respecting one another and treating innocents with a basic sense of dignity?

Considering his constant self-publicity and self-appointed arbiter and representative of the “gay community”, that gobshite Peter Tatchell is conspicuous by his absence.

  2. I am sure there is a difference between Freedom of speech as a principle and harassment !

What’s the point of sending it to the Mail? As if they care?! Why has it not been brought to the attention of someone in Parliament? I notice that the media has not picked up on this story, unlike the one with the royal prank call.

I wonder if it would have been more difficult to explain to children at the school that their teacher had changed their outward appearance to match their innate gender identity, or whether the, now traumatised, children will be taught about suicide, discrimination, bigotry, gender identity, along with their regular therapy sessions to cope with their teacher having killed herself. Lucy might have been the main victim here, but this has created other victims also, and we all be paying for their therapy for years now, so the actions of intolerance perpetrated upon Lucy have injured everyone. Children are quite capable of understanding what has happened here. Imagine the children of those parents whose pictures appeared in the papers opposing her transition. It only struck me the other day how do you explain to children what has happened.

    1. One thing we might be sure those kids won’t be told by their parents is ‘Look what we did’….Thanks to them, Lucy has no future – but I wonder what their will look like when their kids grow up and – hopefully, at least some of them – become more thoughtful and compassionate…

Contrary to popular opinion, children are not idiots, and are not prone to be misdirected with smokescreens. I am sure if they knew Ms Meadows, they would understand what happened and simply wonder why some people could be so spiteful. Maybe out of this tragedy, there might be a small blessing.

  5. I think he’s a very wealthy so if he loses his job he’ll be fine. Unfortunately Lucy Meadows and her family will never be able to say the same

  6. Oh great Little john in the sky, who knows all, sees all, and has the right to criticise and harasss people as he wishes in his wisdom.
The stuff about kids is crap because you don’t actually need to tell them all that guff, and anybody can see that. All yo have to say is that there are some men who through a problem become women, and you need think about it no more than that, jus tlike the stork visiting. The “problem” of telling the kids is just disingenous nonsense dreamt up by this downmarket rag.

  7. Paul Dacre – Dail Fail editor AND head of the Press Complaints Commission – is NOT going to be bullied by this petition. The ONLY way to make thje sort of protest these people understand is to boycot the vile rag. It worked in Liverpool after The Hislsborough disaster. Circulation of ‘The Sun’ never recovered. No self-respecting gay person would EVER read ‘The Fail’, I know … but just urge anyone you know (probably your grandparents and ‘Young Conservatives’) to tell everyone THEY know to dump ‘The Fail’.

I knew Lucy online, I still cry that a brave friend of mine is no more possibly due to harrassment which has its rootys in the abuse from a bad journalist, transitioning in a Catholic led school was incredibly brave of her, she will remain in my thoughts forever.
