Oh brother… can’t people keep this thing in the privacy of their home..

  2. JN-T, like a lot of ego-maniacs, was a letch for sure. Anyone even remotely connected with Dr Who in that era knew that much. But an abuser? I’d never have thought that of him.

Not say he didn’t, and I feel sorry for anyone who was on the receiving end of such abuse if it did indeed happen. But, seems out of character.

  3. A reminder – all this is based on an interview given to another magazine, and rehashed in the most sensationalist manner possible by one of the lowest gutter rags. We should wait and read the actual book this is all coming from before rushing to judge.

I’ll wait for the report and evidence first, especially as he’s not alive to defend himself.

The pathetic imagination that people over 16 and under 21 didn’t have sex, regardless of the law, is laughable. I had sex under the age of 21 plenty of times, so the age-of-consent nonsense from back then, when it was unequal, is just that.

The only evidence so far seems to be a 17 year old saying someone chatted him up.

    1. Quite. The modern age of consent is 16. To imply paedophilia, as the Mirror seemed to be doing on the basis of the above info yesterday, is appalling.

Tabloid newspapers that used to salivate over 16 yo girls are in no position to lecture gay men on fancying legal guys in their late teens.

  5. Why this latest fad of making allegations against dead people? It’s for the money.

There should be no “investigation” and the BBC should tell the complainant they’ve left it too late and to go away.
