Really proud of Paris as she blazes a trail no other trans person in the UK has been able to in the UK when it comes to the media. She also became the first trans TV presenter a few months ago on a late night CH4 TV show.

First question: I would like to ask is how much the straightees are paid by the BBC?

With a BBC Income of £3bn plus, http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2006/jul/07/bbc.broadcasting1 , does this affect you?

  3. What a disappointing insipid programme…I had high hopes at first but its dodged the harder questions.

Paris why did you not tell the Muslim woman that your trans!?!

  4. It’s great that the BBC finally has its first trans woman radio presenter but at the same time I find it kind of sad that this has taken so long. I feel this only goes to show that the Beeb is a very conservative organisation which is typically behind the times. Why, I don’t think I can even recall a news presenter even using the word ‘transsexual’ in a broadcast to date – even though there have been very many newsworthy stories involving trans people throughout the years, major changes in legislation etc. Either ‘transsexual’ is regarded as such a dirty word that even admitting that we exist is seen as akin to uttering one of the list of banned swear words on live, primetime television – or else the major changes of the 20th and early 21st century have passed the archaic Beeb by. Now that they finally have a trans woman on the radio then how about a trans woman, trans man or even – shock horror! – a gender non-conforming person on TV reading the news? Wait another 80 years…?

In fairness to the BBC, I think it has a transsexual correspondent who is not publicly out.

  5. Paris Lees is only paving her way to be famous, that’s it.
All she is concerned about is her own fame, it’s rank.

What exactly has she done for Transsexual People, nothing as far as I can see.

She rides on the back of the misery of transsexual people whilst climbing the fame ladder.

But then all those air brushed photo’s of her is just normal right? because she’s so down to earth and not pretentious in any way?

    Right……
