Amelia Lily to headline Northern Pride

Former X Factor singer Amelia Lily has been announced as the headline act for this year’s Northern Pride in Newcastle, along with 80s artist Toyah.

18-year-old Lily, who came third in the 2011 series of the X Factor, has recently been supporting Girls Aloud on their reunion tour.

Her debut single, ‘You Bring Me Joy’, was released on 9 September 2012 and reached number two on the UK Singles Chart.

Meanwhile Katrina, from Katrina and the Waves, will also be appearing on the main stage for this year’s Northern Pride.

Peter Darrant, Northern Pride chairman said: “This year is our biggest line up yet with the biggest names in pop past and present”. He added: “along with the cabaret stage, family zone, dance tent, trans zone, women’s tent, health zone and sports zone this is going to be a fun packed day for everyone”

Northern Pride takes place in Newcastle’s Leazes Park on Saturday 20 July.
