  1. It will comes as a big shock to them then when they find out that prayers don’t work. This might well prove to be the Family Research Council’s undoing. After all, if God isn’t listening to their prayers, where does that leave the FRC’s followers? With the distinct impression that they’ve all been conned for years.

Quite! Eleven countries, 9 American states (3 of them by voter referendum, the very thing they demanded but still can’t accept). Prayer doesn’t work for bigots it seems and nor does their God.

      1. Liam the God 21 Mar 2013, 9:14pm

They’ll just convince themselves they weren’t praying hard enough.

  2. Steve Sampson 21 Mar 2013, 5:29pm

This call from the FRC is boarder-line superstition.

  3. I wish I could be around fifty years from now to see how history will regard these people.

Well I’m going to go one-up on this. I’m going to use the POWER OF MY MIND and telekinesis the Justices around the room whilst they make their ruling. Because just like those who use prayer I can totally influence the world around me through the POWER OF MY MIND!!!!

Or then again maybe I’m just deluding myself and actually this will play out according to real actions by real people who happen to be directly involved. Ho hum…

  5. Translation of the headline: They pray our lawyers are as bad as theirs have been so far. Not happening!

    1. Worzel Gurtridge 23 Mar 2013, 6:35am

It’s not that their lawyers are bad, it’s that they haven’t got a legal leg to stand on. “My imaginary friend demands…” doesn’t hold up in court.

Listen, you dumbies out there…this Christ dude hung around with 12 men in the desert with a prostitute…he preached giving not taking..he preached many things you all seem to misunderstand..and then this big book you tout was written by a bunch of crabby old men during some of the darkest hours of human history and you think this stuff was the word of a man..from a world where few could read and less could write…?? You are truly out of touch.
You could spend some time reading religious history and same-sex marriages of Europe…the chuch not only sanctioned them..they performed them..for knights to each other or to their serbs…cause like all marriages it was about property…and the knights had a lot of property..cause the kings/queens and the popes gave it to them. Then in about 1327 it all changed…right after marriage became a sacrament…do your reading…don’t look so stupid..ok???

    1. ‘Serbs’ are hot!

  7. Someone needs to tell Tony that the guys fighting Prop 8 were on BOTH sides of Bush v. Gore. Inept? Pray on.

  8. Liam the God 21 Mar 2013, 6:45pm

Isn’t the claim that it’s an “Assault on Jesus” a bit presumptuous? Given that they can’t actually even prove he existed?

    1. Gene in L.A. 22 Mar 2013, 3:33am

In their own book, he never says a single word about homosexuality, let alone gay marriage.

  9. “The FRC are urging their members to pray that Proposition 8 and DOMA get upheld in court, and have offered suggestions of prayers to this effect on their website.”

There’s also a golden amulet you can wear and a special piece of wood you can burn and then you wave around the smoke. You can then chop the head off a chicken and say 8 hail mary’s. Then all your hatred comes out in a green cloud and poisons the world, and the true believers that are left won’t know how to work anything so they will starve to death.

Im pretty sure that clasping my hands together and believing that I am mind melding with a supreme being will do bugger all with my desires in life.

When will these idiots be sectioned for their dangerous delusions.

  11. Did you hear that? That’s the sound of a US hate organisation clutching at straws

  12. So, let’s all pray that these buzzards of the dark ages finally see the light of day.
    This rhetoric might match theirs.

  13. “The prayer guide also offers suggestions of relevant bible passages, including “all” of Leviticus 20, which contains the passage “If a man lies with a man, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.””

Oops im sorry did you forget something? Maybe a little verse that you skipped to fit your anti gay agenda? I think i found it “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them…” Lev 18:2 as well as “Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel…” Lev 20:2 hmm i thought so. Also, Leviticus is written specifically for the children of Israel, containing laws and rules for Israel to obey as they prepare to occupy the land of Canaan, not for christians. Also “man lie with man” meant not to treat a man as woman (or servant) but alas i guess hating people to make yourselves look stronger is good for you. Well continue your charade, you’re only losing, not winning.

  14. Their prayers are powerless against the pins in my FRC voodoo doll.

  15. Do you really and honestly believe that prayers from haters and hate organsations are going to be answered by the Lord God?You are seriously in error. Hate is not of God.

    1. But it is: the Old Testement is full of the actions of a rash, spiteful, heartless, vengeful God. He’s the one they’re praying to.

Fortunately Thor and Apollo can override his decisions if they chose. They told me so.

Look, I can make this rubbish up too!

  16. In other words, they’re praying for the lawyers to switch places.
