  1. I am very much looking forward to watching this documentary when it airs!

And good on the Causer family who are doing something positive out of something negative, best wishes to them and I wish their charity luck.

  2. Ok I’ll be rude. The albert Kennedy Trust also helps Homeless LGBT people why do we need another one. i understand that there should be a memorial to Michael Causer but there would be less overheads if these orgabisations worked together

    1. Could it be because AKT seems to be largely based in London and Manchester and the Causers want to set up something based in Liverpool? Just a guess.

Causer–Lovely family ! Stephen Fry is a person I admire. Great personality.

  4. Stephen Fry and his team are doing a brilliant job with this documentary. The fact that Michael Causer’s murder was not regarded as a hate crime at the time, makes me stop and think. Have things improved since 2008? Maybe, I’m not sure. But it does make me think that, although the LGBT community in the UK have it far far better than many places in the world, this is because people have taken a stand and fought for their rights. Everyone who does this, on whatever scale, takes a step forward and should be thanked.

  5. Stephen Fry is someone I admire as a true Human Being.

Stephen Fry the crippled closet case who then claimed for years he was celibate simply to avoid discussing his sexuality? That Fry? Oh well.

With such dear people like you around, it’s anyone’s guess as to why he was in the closet.

The comment of ‘Suddenly Last Bummer’ is unkind and no less mean when offset by all the good he does now. People can change and grow. They should be allowed to do so.

    3. Actually he always said he was gay but that he was celibate as well.
