  1. The ACLU has become counterproductive in the area of gay kids. They’re always willing to bully organisations (like this school and the anti-gay T-shirt incident) and take the shortest, easiest path which is consistent with their principles. They don’t take seriously the consequences their actions will have on children. If they can’t commit to taking this to court to ensure all clubs are allowed, they should keep out of it.

Those kids mad at young Bayll should direct their ire at the true cause of the cancellations.

The bigots who think they can “protect” teens from seeing that gay people exist, that there are possibly gay people amongst their peers, and that it’s no big deal that gay people are part of society.

  3. They want to decide if this kind of club is ‘suitable’ for younger kids? How is love, tolerance and acceptance somehow unsuitable? I get the impression that Americans expect LGBT Alliances to be some sort of underage orgiastic circuit party.

Those against equality and LGBT inclusion in society simply don’t see a person, they see a walking sex life. To the point of obsession in many cases.

Agreed. The obsession with what goes on behind closed doors is almost always at the forefront of these ‘concerns’.

Yes. I find it rather bemusing that so many furiously anti-LGBT people are obsessed with what everyone else does in private. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so dangerous for LGBT people.

Here in Ontario Canada Gay Straight Alliance clubs were mandated by the Province. The only ones bitching about them are the damned Catholics, but by law they have to allow them.

  5. Seems like no one in this school district will deal with the anti-gay bullying taking place, that’s why this boy is trying to start this alliance. It is a pity that these morons think an all or nothing approach is ok. If they suspend these other clubs or alliances I worry there will be an increase of the bullying going on. Let them have their gay-straight alliances, jeez.
