  1. They mean well but they are foolish.

There is no ‘god’ and no afterlife.

And America really needs to wake up to that fact.

Well intended, but in reality, Rome isn’t going to listen as they elect another Ratzinger clone later today or tomorrow. Nothing changes, nothing ever will. I hope more enlightened Cathollics leave their cult in droves.

Churches all around the world harm LGBT people. This has been going on for hundreds of years. Period.

Harming, killing, torturing and degrading LGBT persons goes like a red thread through the History of religions and Christianity. Start reading –.and increase your awareness of this horrible FACT-Dear Sister and Brother !

  5. Why doesn’t the church just disband? Interest is dwindling in it, and they haven’t been able to decide which Pope has the guts to lead for the next feck knows how many years.

The only area that has seen a rise in Catholicism is Africa, but over there, if you are whacked by a live chicken, that knocks the gay out of you.

    1. Unfortunately, it’s not just Africa the Catholic Church is winning converts. They are doing well in South Korea and very sadly, China! The Evangelicals who are just as vile are also aggressively winning converts over.

  6. all the churches have to face the fact that you cannot change gay people for the way they are. deal with it.

Right lucy !! It is as simple as that. And still persons like me and millions of gays and lesbians are being treated like misfits. What a crazy world- A warm hug to You ! ( from Norway )

  7. The answer is simple.
    You gay?
You being harmed (well that goes with out saying) by the RCC?
So get you bum off the pew and walk out….and don’t go back.
I did, 52 years ago at 18 because of it.

Now 70, I cannot see the problem.
    Dump the lot.
I did it. so can you.
    Fack them.

  8. “I have come to learn the unintended consequences of those that believe they are teaching what it is to be a good Catholic or Christian in fact are the very reason why LGBT teens suffer an unusually high rate of depression, attempted suicides, and worse, suicide.” A helpful admission – perhaps the most effective catalyst for change might be for someone brought up in an oppressive religious home to take legal against the Church for causing depression and suicidal feelings. Added to the billions paid out for the paedophile scandal, this could bring the RCC down, or at least make them more cautious when they preach homophobia. A good lawyer should be able to tear the ‘it’s in the Bible’ defence to shreds…

I do like you comment, MarkN ! It is as if society hasn’t yet fully understood all the harm religion has brought to gays, lesbians and transgender people. I knew 7 persons in my home town in Norway who committed suicide .( a few decades ago) The main reason ! was, of course, the anti-gay atmosphere Christianity had created in every corner of the society-
