  1. Take a look at incomes, not just sexual orientation. I think you will find that lesbian couples tend to have lower median incomes due to the ongoing wage gap and are often raising children as well. That means less access to quality health care.

    The study notes: Recent lesbian mortality rates are almost 90 percent higher than opposite-sex women in Denmark. Married lesbians were more than six times more likely to commit suicide than married straight women. Lesbians were also at a 60 percent increased risk of death from cancer, for reasons not yet understood.
