  1. … and … are we supposed to be excited by this news …? Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

  2. @truth

Well some of you are quick to lable all Catholics the same and tar us all with the same brush.

Clearly we`re not all anti gay equality!

Until you stop putting money into the collection plate, which does fund anti equality. To the tune of at least £150,000 ie hypocrite O’Brien in his anti gay marriage campaign.
Until you stand up together in Mass and say ‘The hierarchy of this church offends me with it’s hate to gay people’
Then yes, you are a participent, a fund raiser for gay hate.
Until then, clearly you are all anti gay equality.

      1. Well said!

  3. I was attempting to state I really don’t give a monkey’s tush what ANY ‘religious’ group thinks. Gay people have had their human rights denied for hundreds of years because of some obscure, man-written texts – all of which were time-specific and had a clear agenda; to make certain ‘tribes’ more powerful and successful than others. I thought we’d moved on. But we still, for some unfathomable reason, defer to ‘religious belief’ as if it has a supernatural and mystical right to be a dominant force. In my book, it doesn’t. People should be free to ‘believe’ whatever they like. But that ‘belief’ should have no place whatsoever in influencing the lives on non-believers. ‘Belief’ is a choice. Being gay, isn’t.

    1. Yes, but if you are interested in the welfare of GLBT people you can’t dismiss positive swings in public opinion as irrelevant. The fewer believers who hate us, the less power the churches have to harm us.

  4. I hate religion who gives a shit. W/E

  5. “52% of Catholics want the new Pope to take the Catholic Church in a new direction”
    Dream on.
