  1. As a gamer myself, I know well how cut-throat an atmosphere the gaming community can be. It’s rife with both homophobia and misogyny. And lots of rape jokes. I think including more female characters that aren’t created solely for the male gaze and more well-rounded LGBT characters will help towards changing attitudes, but most of the problem lies with the “core gamers” (AKA mostly straight male dudebros) and their sense of entitlement to the whole community and industry.

  2. And I suppose the timing with regards to EA’s recent PR disaster re Sim City and microtransactions is completely irrelevant…!
    Voted Consumerist’s worst company of 2012, fully living up to that reputation.
