This is just wrong, teachers should be helping and supporting kids not destroying them. But then Texans are more animal than human.

Could you please provide the link to her petition so that we may sign it in support of her rights? Thanks very much

  5. Just a sweet, gentle, loving photo. What on earth’s the problem with it? How unnecessary to pull it – totally pathetic.

  8. It’s hardly porn!

But her dads suggestion to take another photo seems very reasonable to me, by considering it uncovers their mask of lies to hide that they just don’t want a lesbian photo, I doubt he will ever get a response

  9. It’s a shame. Last week I watched a video from a show filmed in Texas where members of the public defended gay parents being abused by a restaurant staff member (acted), and it made me think about the stereotype image I have for the Bible thumping region.

Then this happens, and once again Texas is showing itself to be a religiously insane region of mental defectives with a big chip on their shoulder.

Everything is bigger in Texas – including bigotry it seems.

  10. Isn’t there a format for yearbooks? I’ve never seen a pic like this in one. Maybe I’m wrong. The school need to prove they are not being homophobic by accepting another picture of the couple.

If this was 1978, this would look like any usual 16 yr old couple. (I was there!)

  12. Such a sweet loving picture! Really isn’t that supposed to be what Valentines Day is all about?

“Mr Rivera contacted the school to ask if they would include a photo of his daughter and Ms Hernandez looking at the camera, but has not received a response.”

Of course not, because then they would have to admit that the only reason the photo was pulled was because it shows a lesbian couple. Disgusting bigotry.
