That may be true on many levels, but not when it comes to same-sex marriage – in the first place this ceremony has no legal recognition, and then one of these two women has suppressed her surname because of her family: that’s not all that terribly advanced really, is it?
Lovely! And so nice that they’re both wearing dresses – especially after that alleged earlier suggestion from Disney.

In fact Iris (and sorry, this is really rather off-topic) I do get a little uncharacteristically bashful about making such observations because I’m a gay man – I’m a little fearful of those who’d say it’s nothing to do with me and I couldn’t possibly understand. I don’t believe that’s right, but – being hopelessly wet-liberal – I can’t say there mayn’t be a grain of truth there!
But it’s also worth saying that both of these women do look rather lovely in the photograph.
Awesome story, seeing this as maybe a step forward with gay marriage in Japan :) Making me want to move there after uni even more xx
