Brilliant news – well done ladies

  3. So lovely!!! :D :D :D

  4. The Japanese are so grown up they must look west and laugh at our idiocy

    1. That may be true on many levels, but not when it comes to same-sex marriage – in the first place this ceremony has no legal recognition, and then one of these two women has suppressed her surname because of her family: that’s not all that terribly advanced really, is it?

  5. Lovely! And so nice that they’re both wearing dresses – especially after that alleged earlier suggestion from Disney.

    1. As you may well expect (given that we’ve discussed this before), I agree with you wholeheartedly there, Iris!

      1. Thanks, Rehan. I was half-expecting you to have made this comment already, but when I saw you hadn’t I thought it needed saying. :D

        1. In fact Iris (and sorry, this is really rather off-topic) I do get a little uncharacteristically bashful about making such observations because I’m a gay man – I’m a little fearful of those who’d say it’s nothing to do with me and I couldn’t possibly understand. I don’t believe that’s right, but – being hopelessly wet-liberal – I can’t say there mayn’t be a grain of truth there!

        2. But it’s also worth saying that both of these women do look rather lovely in the photograph.

  6. Awesome story, seeing this as maybe a step forward with gay marriage in Japan :) Making me want to move there after uni even more xx
