Well, Sr. Diaz, has equal marriage stopped heterosexuals from marrying since it was first introduced? Has it stopped any of them from procreating? NO, end of, bloody fool. I see it’s not just in the UK we have these religious idiots holding elected office.
At an estimated 7bn, the human race isn’t in the slightest danger of not surviving, indeed overpopulation is arguably the greater danger.
Fuckwits like this individual should perhaps focus their concern on the planet’s sustainability. I understand the water shortages in Mediterranean Spain due to overdevelopment are becoming serious. Interesting what this creature chooses to comment on, isn’t it?
Yes, indeed, Rehan! Truly amazing how these morons are elected. They’ve had equal marriage seven years and still they’re banging on about the end of civilisation and the end of marriage. Speaking of which, if I might digress.
Burrowes, Loughton and Shannon have submitted further amendments as follows:
Clause 11, page 10, line 41 of the marriage bill, leave out subsection (1) and insert—
‘(1)
In this Act—
(a)
references to “marriage” in relation to same sex couples shall be changed to “union”.
(b)
in the law of England and Wales, “union” has the same effect in relation to same sex couples as “marriage” has in relation to opposite sex couples.’.
They’re now trying to make a distinction between same sex and opposite sex marriages, calling our marriages unions and their’s marriages.
Unbloody believable! They are determined to impose an religious interpretation of this bill and have it legislated that way. They’re barking mad.
What total scumbags!!!! They’ll stop at nothing to prevent full equality! All because of their “religious” rights….well, “religious” rights do not and cannot trump our Human Rights….Human Rights come before and trump ALL other rights and as everyone knows, Human Rights are Equal Rights…period!
We’ve heard this faulty-logic argument before, sadly. It is ignorant since it ignores the fact that LGBT people have been around as long as non LGBT people. The Earth now has more than 7 bilion human inhabitants. This speaks for itself, and loudly! So, how is it again, that giving 10% of the population equal rights will impact birth rates and overwhelm the 90% majority? This argument is laughable and obviously totally flawed. The numbers do not lie, unlike people such as this ignorant person. Screw him and his bigotry!
“same-sex marriage laws could mean the human race would not be “guaranteed” to survive”…I really wish Sr.Diaz would elaborate on the logic of this – ahem – ‘argument’…..Does he mean that, if the law gives them the chance, everyone on the planet would decide to marry someone of the same sex, a fail to produce children? What else could he mean? Presumably he must be generalising from his own personal desires, assuming everyone is like him, and is yet another homophobe revealing his true sexual orientation….Another candidate for a ‘Cardinal Award’ this year perhaps…..
Presumably, if Sr Diaz is concerned that gay people are not pulling their weight when it comes to reproduction and parenting then he will be supporting intiatives to encourage more gay parenting and adoption.
I also hope he will condemn celibate relationships while he is at it.
If not then he might just be open to accusations of inconsistency.
Is his wife pregnant? If she’s not barefoot and pregnant, why not? He’s not doing his part to procreate. Come to think of it, he looks too old to procreate. Force him to get divorced immediately so the human race can be saved!
HIs church needs to teach him to stay away from saying stupid things that offend nearly everyone.
It’s good that Spanish Conservatives have distanced themselves from these comments. It’s still sad that ANYONE makes these comments, but encouraging that he is being marginalised.
He should read “Evolution’s Rainbow” by Joan Roughgarden. Evolution clearly has a use for the existence of gay and trans people – this can be shown because the mutations that permit us to exist are not eliminated from the gene pool in the way lethal mutations are, and therefore we are relatively common.

Sometimes they talk as if “gays” had just been invented. As if until marriage equality has been an issue then there were no such things as “gays”.

because of course humans are an endangered species and there arent enough of us in the world.

Even if everyone were gay, today we have the technology to produce children without intercourse.
I love this kind of argument — it’s so over-the-top loony? Do you suppose anyone asked Sr. Diaz exactly how this is going to happen?
