How nice for them to award themselves with a mutual back-patting jolly.

    How much did that cost?
A shame they didn’t put as much into keeping prices down as they did with their political correctness. London still has the most expensive public transport in Europe and most of the world.

If these people really want to prove their worth, get off their ivory towers and go gunning for that scumbag Bob Crowe and his cohorts. Maybe when then we see a few RMT stewards hanging from lamposts, then you can go have a gala lunch at taxpayers and commuters expense.

    1. Not having this event would not have made transport fares in London any cheaper.

The event is probably not at all expensive, and they were selling drinks and food too.
So for all we know the cost might have been recouped there and then. At the very least, it would have mitigated the running cost.
In any case, it would probably take a million of these events to reduce the cost of our individual fares by 1 penny.

If by promoting “political correctness” saves some people from a lifetime of misery, from prejudices, from living a life of deceit to themselves and others; then, yes, there is nothing wrong with spending a miniscule amount of money to make people’s lives better.

Oh get your priorities right dammit.
A handful of people suffer persecution, yet millions suffer exorbitant travel costs because of these people’s incompetence.

  2. Is this the same Transport for London that’s now completely dropped out of the Stonewall Top 100 Employers list? :-(

    1. Gerry – we withdrew from the Stonewall Workplace Index due to our commitments for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. Around 3,500 staff were working across the Network and most back-office provisions were scaled back. The completion of this fell between both the Olympics and Parlympics, and it would have been impossible to have given it our full attention.

We announced at the time that we would submit an entry in 2014 and are working on that now. Hopefully we will do as good as or better than before.

If you have booked a chauffeur service which will take you across the city on your time and according to your convenience then it is the best thing you did. It is the most convenient and perfect option for your travel in the city no matter whether you are visiting London for a family vacation or business reason
