Did anyone ever actually listen to him?

Here’s Ireland’s Taoiseach, Enda Kenny (PM) at an audience with the Pope and as you can see in the videos he ain’t interested.

    Here’s the video

I still say the Catholic Church and other conservative evangelical churches have way too much influence in the U.S. especially in the Republican Party.

It may appear that way from the sound and fury of the Fundie/right wing chicken littles, but in reality, i.e., the November elections, the polls, the Republicans coming on board with the President to change peoples’ minds on SSM, I believe we are heading in the right direction with full speed ahead. Like the Pope-pope-pori, Republicans are going to either retire, or be retired with the coming elections. The TPods have had their day under the clouds and no sunshine is forecast in their future either. Thank goodness!

As it should be. Ratzinger should have cleaned his own home, the RCC, and kept himself out of world politics and government processes. Sticking to saving the souls of his faithful. The pope no longer controls the known world. Get over it.

He’s become something like the embarrasing bigoted relative you see once a year at Christmas who everyone humors for a while and then ignores.
You know you’re on a highway to nothing as a Pope when even the Irish and Spanish won’t listen to you.

    Pope Benedict was not influential?

Hm! I would love to see a survey of how many RC faithful his absurd rhetoric influenced to leave the church during the last 8 years because he undermined their personal values and beliefs.

It wouldn’t only shed light on his lack of influence, but also the irreparable damage toll on the RC faith.
