  1. Perhaps God won’t let it sink, but the conduct of the top brass and its priests WILL.

Also, “Catholic male priests” puzzles me. There are no female Catholic priests.

    1. It is sinking, In the USA the second largest religion is EX catholic

It also stinks – they ought to check the priests etc dxcks for brown stains from the children

      1. link re cath church collapsing in USA (its all but dead in W Europe anyway.

BTW when I was in the army a veteran of the war in the pacific told us how to make sure the enemy was dead.

        2 in the head.

time to finish the job this time by education. the monstrosity that gave us

the hatred of Jews that led to the holocaust and 55 million deaths in wwII

Same re the xtian crusades in north africa and the4 middle east – ten million or more dad over 500 years – no wonder with societies long memories some hate us

The thousand years of the dark ages of zero social and economic progress while the corrupt kings caballed with corupt bishops etc

it goes on and on. the only question is weather catholocism and its descendants murdered more people that Isalm

For ye cannot find the depth of the heart of man, neither can ye perceive the things that he thinketh: then how can ye search out God, that hath made all these things, and know his mind, or comprehend his purpose…Judith

    1. Are you saying that Benedict was unable to acknowledge the true realities of human beings and therefore he hasn’t a cat in hell’s chance of coming to know his supposed big pixie in the sky?

  3. Bollocks! Jesus would fail to recognise this sickening, gold-encrusted, bigoted bunch of nonces in frocks as anything to do with his religion.

Not allow it to sink? Any sane god would cast this lot into the deepest pit of hell until the end of time.

Icebergs ahead for the unsinkable Catholic Church.

  5. …Glug glug

  6. Now that’s what I call a statement of Titanic arrogance.

  7. god would not let the church “sink.”?

Well given that god does not exist – the church and all other superstitions are Doomed – Hurray!!!!

  8. I think ‘god’ is in the process of pulling out the plug as I type! This outfit has had its day. It is anachronistic beyone belief (pun intended). I watched today as those old men, in their silly costumes, bow and scrape to each other and expect their followers to do the same. I have no problem with people following a ‘faith’ so long as they don’t preached hatred and division. If we are ‘all god’s children’ then he makes some of us gay. If the catholics and other religions accepted that, we could all move on and have a nice life.

It’s already sinking in the west, in fact, in fact barely submerged in Europe. Good riddance to another hate monger although I’ve no doubt he will be replaced with yet another, then hopefully it will sink entirely as more prelates and clergy are accused of improper sexual behaviour.

  10. Very revealing how Benedict sees the catholic believers: as fish, as food on which that unholy church can feed on that is more important than anything else.

If god existed he would sink this foul organisation immediately. The existence of the catholic church is proof that god doesn’t exist.

And little idiotic cardinal Peter Tuckson, there are no reports of child abuses in Africe because there the priest can still lie and oppress like they have done and got away with here in the past.

    What total crap.

One thing you can rely on with the Catholic Church, it’s leaders will discriminate and roll on the next pope to see how much hate he’ll spread!

  12. It is truly extraordinary, the arrogance of these Romans – as though ‘God’ hasn’t allowed the church to sink in the past, in Constantinople/Istanbul, in modern-day Iraq and, for that matter, in the “Holy Land.”

For someone who’s supposed to be a scholar, Papa Ratzi does say some blindingly stupid things.

  13. Bye bye Pope that came to change the Scriptures and yes IT WAS THE JEWS that KILLED JESUS NOT THE ROMANS! BYE BYE to a Pope that didnt know that Gay marriages has always been practiced in the Catholic faith no wonder he was pushed out by the Gay mafia!!

  14. God wouldn’t let the church sink?
Just like all those times god refused to let the ancient israelite kingdoms sink time after time?

    1. On second thoughts. The religious types often say those old kingdoms fell because the ‘turned away from god’. So if the reactionary politics, and sex abuse scandals wont sink the church, they must be divinely inspired virtues.

My favourite bonkers Benedict rant was when he said that homosexuality was worse than climate change.I hope they remember that in the Vatican when they’re all knee deep in water from the melting ice caps.

  16. *Starts humming ‘My heart will go on…’*

  17. It’s sinking like the Titantic. Maybe that’s God’s will to destroy this cult.

  18. Think all the people abused by this decaying cult should gather in Rome and demand justice from the ones that covered the abuse and destroyed their lives !

  19. Ah, great, so, clearly, he’s been thinking about the possibility of the church sinking! It’s felt to him in recent years that the church IS sinking!

So it IS, Ratzi! So it IS! (In the West, at least, where people are informed and enlightened!)

  20. God will not let this corrupt man-made Church sink, but God will definitely let it crumble and implode! Just as God would not recognize this shameless power hungry organization as it is; the RC Church would also not recognize God/Jesus if he came back tomorrow. It would most likely crucify him and deny he is God.

  21. Why wouldn’t his god let the church sink? It has already done so much damage in the world. Time for it to sink!

  22. Sink !!!! Sink !!! Sink like the Titanic………….. to soon. alright then ill shut up.

  23. “It’s a great burden that you’ve placed on my shoulders.”

I’d like to know how God burdened Benedict into becoming a pope. No one forced him. Anyway… Another bigoted religious homophobe gone, sadly just another will take his place. To me, if you’re a pope and still go out of your way to spread hate by telling people that gays are an abomination, you’re not of God – it’s that simple really.

  24. Ha, like rats leaving a sinking ship, Ratzinger ? Or maybe like the crew of the Medusa building a raft ? But it’s too late, this ship has already started sinking. I suggest you all stop holing your lifebuoys right now by persecuting LGBT people, if you don’t want to go down with your ship.
