I don’t know. I think it’s an enormous waste of money. There are higher priorities in the Sydney City area. There are countless numbers of footpaths in desperate need of repair. There are plenty of roads that need repair as well.
I wonder if the ‘new’ Pope wants to come visit you and the city would be so concerned about wasting money.

I am gay and live up the road from the crossing. I am also a Clover supporter – HOWEVER, the cost of this is crazy and the crossing in only temporary. I am not a penny pincher, but there are so many things this money could have done of a more permanent nature to the betterment of the community. I don’t think this was one of Clover’s better ideas.
How stupid and embarrassing is my own country Australia to spend thousands or millions of dollars on a temporary rainbow crossing – when at the same time there are homeless people there and here in Convict Penal Colony UK land (or Australia) gay marriage is still not legal here!
