If however you concede (and you have never done so) that there should be restrictions governing consenting adult sex, then this opens the debate as to whether same sex should be one of those restrictions. There is a strong biblical argument against homosexual acts and therefore same sex marriage.

It is always important to consider the messenger when considering the content of the message. As for your other comments you’re conflating several different issues. There is nothing hypocritical about believing that incest is wrong but homosexuality isn’t, they are different issues.
Oh and actually you’ll find plenty of Biblical scholars who would disagree that there is a strong biblical argument against homosexual acts and even if there is, so what? The Bible also contains a strong argument in favour of slavery.
Slavery in Israel was humane and did not consist of whips and chains. Prisoners of war these days would be the Israelite slaves, except there were strict rules to protect the slaves from inhumanity just as there are with todays POWs.
No scholar alive or dead can successfully challenge the clear warnibngs of men lying with men etc in the bible. Many have tried and failed.
It is hypocritical to claim that consenting adults be absolutely allowed to practice sex without interference from the government then claim to be against incest and polygamy as many of te deviant brigade are. Biblical scholars have indeed cast doubt on what the Bible says in relation to gay sex, the fact that you don’t agree with them doesn’t make them wrong.
My argument in relation to gay sex is not that everyone should be able to do whatever they like but rather that my natural sexuality should be treated the same as everyone else’s. therefore I too cannot have sex with a minor, with my brother or sister or another relative or with someone else who does not consent. Incest and polygamy are different issues with different arguments for and against and you do your arguments a disservice by trying to conflate them.
