This man’s stupidity astounds me. There’s a higher incidence of male on male than female on male abuse which indicates some form of problem? Of course that’s the case because a higher proportion of men than women have sexually abused children. By his logic no male scoutleaders should be allowed whatsoever.
If you apply his logic, there would be no male mentors allowed in any organization because of the risk factor. Actually if you go a stage further perhaps considering his opinion he shouldn’t be allowed to be a father, because as a male he also posses a risk to his own kids well being!

I gave the best part of 10 years of my life to Scouting. How can anyone discriminate against a male just because he ‘may’. Later on after I retired I had two of my scouts contact me through a gay site thanking me for being a role model for them growing up. They feel that society was against them but because I accepted them for how they are they fely better about themselves and have gone on to grow into good men. As for the Tory Minister he should retire and go to the country n tend his shepp.
So the “Family Research Council” would promote deceit as a moral value worthy of the BSA.
