Half of my gay friends work at a starbucks, it’s gay central.

    1. That was my first thought too. And then I realised that all of my gay friends who work there are gay men, but this article is about a lesbian. Perhaps Starbucks is rather less lesbian-friendly than gay-man-friendly? But then the whole arrest business sounds odd, and maybe there’s rather more to the story than meets the eye.

  3. You watch her turn out to be a Christian trying to get revenge on them because they support gay people.

I boycott Starbucks anyway because of their policy of tax avoidance.

Personally prefer to help profits to a company that pays tax…

  6. Hmm.. yeah this doesn’t feel right, going by Starbucks’ track record on LGBT issues.

I think there’s more to this.

Most of these comments are missing the point. It is not the company, but it’s the local store manager & staff. I have been fired from an Apple store and a major company’s petrol station, both by their local management for being Gay. Both mangers were outwardly in favor of the conservative “family values”. Due to this rapid succession of jobs, I’m over 40 and struggling to find a job; competing against college students at a third of the pay I should be garnering for my experience and education. Most corporations will stand behind their managers. They’re much more difficult to replace, regardless how wrong they may be.
