  1. “ofcom criticised”? Well that is them told then, I bet they are hiding under the covers shaking now. What they should have done is take it off the air for a few weeks (preferably forever)

Exactly. And a £4,000 fine for calling for listeners to beat and torture gay people is equally ridiculous. Ofcom obviously doesn’t care about the life and safety of gay people.

      1. Oh, so they ‘did’ something – £4000 ! !!!! That’s nothing for a broadcast corporation! £400,000 or a license removal, that I’d be happy with!

If they are contually breaking the laws of this country, why are t5hey still allowed to broardcast. surly the right thing to do is revoke their business licence

  4. Why are there never any serious consequences for this kind of thing? “Naughty people, don’t do it again.” Take them OFF the air.

  5. “She told listeners that gay people should be beaten and tortured, adding: “Torture them; punish them; beat them and give them mental torture.””

Haven’t people been arrested for less than this?

yes arrest the freak and see how she likes being tortured! Plenty of lesbians in prison who’d teach her to mind her manners.

Good thinking but why make a martyr of her…?
Perhaps she should be married off to a man who is at least forty years older than her
and also has three other wives. then she may learn what it is to be a real Muslim woman,
rather than have the freedom she now has, she’ll be under the control of a man, who may
or may not treat her with respect?

Islam is a dirty evil faith that does not deserve to be considered valid let alone validated by television. Take away their licence to broadcast!

It’s right up there with the Roman cult. Hard to distinguish which one is the most evil and corrupt.

They are, look at what they can get away with. ofcom is not fit for purpose. If this was about islamophobia , the channel would be shut down and prosecuted.

      Post a reply →
  9. Their license should be removed and they should be made to re-appy with proper assurances in place. I am going to write to my MP about this. These ignorant pieces of pigshit do not deserve the benefits of living in a civilised country. Will we hear an outcry from so called moderate Muslims about this? Not fucking likely.

UK, please come down hard on these evil, stone-age monsters. There should really be rallies to drive them out of the country. They don’t belong in a wonderful free society.

Careful guys, next time it might be a firmly worded letter.

Many of these “of” organisations just seem to be sops in order to quietly dispose of complaints without having to take any action.

  14. I have to wonder what would happen if a host of a gay radio station were to suggest us gay people go out and beat up on any Islamic types we see, you wouldn’t know for sure they were that way inclined, but you could maybe guess from the way they walk, talk, dress or maybe where they hang out. I wonder also how that would sit with the UK Islamic community. I’m guessing they would be a little pissed off.

  16. This article shows that Ofcom has no power whatsoever or if it has, then it chooses to be timid with regard to hate speech from Islamic broadcasters.

Those presenters guilty of hate speech should of course be charged by the police in accordance with the law. Perhaps they only act when they receive a complaint from the public?

In any case, surely Ofcom would have been aware that the channel/presenters broke the law, so why did they not notify the police? Is it being run by a panel of Roman Catholics who “take their whip” (to quote Jacob Rees-Mogg) from the Vatican?

This should not have been allowed to happen in the first place, but ofcoms response has left the door wide open for it to happen again. We shouldn’t expect anything else from extreme Islamists but we expect much better from Ofcom. It is they who have more questions to answer regarding this blatant disregard for the law.

  17. Ofcom is a joke. Action by them means they just got together for a tea and scones party to dicuss. The most they could do to punish any one is through marshmellows at them.

Religious nutters get away with so much shit in this country.

  18. Why was this woman not charge by the police with incitement?

What sort of person is she to be allowed to be walking the street with such vile views

  19. Why are some people allowed to live in this country and spread their hatred. It’s because of attitudes like this that ‘normal’ people become somewhat racist. If people don’t like the way this country is accepting of all, including Muslims, maybe it’s time they went back to the country they originated.

    Post a reply →
    1. If they were born here then then this is the country “from where they originated”. The problem with a group spreading hatred is that in turns into a vicious circle and everyone ends up hating eacother. Personally I think both right wing Christians and fundamentalist Muslims have more in common with each other that they think.

      Post a reply →
  20. What sort of filth do you think they are hearing in their mosques?

  21. If It was a LGBT Network saying these kind of things about Muslims wounder if they would be as lenient

We’d have a lot more to fear from Muslim protesters rather than OFCOM. The worse you could expect from OFCOM is a fine and perhaps a revoked license. With the Muslim protesters… you’d probably have a very violent demonstration! Perhaps the LGBT community should hold a protest against their radio station!

      Post a reply →
  22. This is truly disgusting and outrageous. They should have their license to broadcast removed. A petition to ofcom anyone?

    Post a reply →
  23. “Torture them; punish them; beat them and give them mental torture” …Please forgive that woman – she only told about every day life for many a muslim women … who know nothing else and just wanted to share the love … and incite more -muslim patrols – to take the heat of her back

    Post a reply →
  24. There should be heavy fines for such bigotry, and if it continues even after warnings and fines have been give, then they shouldlose their licence to broadcast
This kind of hatred shouldn’t be tolerated in a modern Britain
    This isn’t Saudia Arabia.

So remove there licence and close them down.

If this had been against them or an issue of race we wouldn’t be hearing excuses we would see them closed, so act the same way here.

    Post a reply →
  26. Shut them down then. Easy. If we said things like that in their country about a group of people it’d mean a lashing at the very least. Why are we so bloody soft on these people?

    Post a reply →
  27. And why, pray, haven’t the culprits been prosecuted? Had a gay channel been making anti-Islamist remarks, no doubt the perpetrators would have been hauled before the courts immediately.
