I’ve never understood this kind of exhortation – I mean, if the pope is supposed to be God’s chosen representative on earth, why should he be in need of further random prayers to God? Is it suggested that God has changed his mind with regard to Ratzi (in which case God might be said to be having a belated attack of good sense)?
