If I believed in curses I would curse them all.

Archbishop, why don’t you pray to get love and respect for people because up to this point you show nothing but hatred and vile for anyone who thinks differently than you and your fellow molesters….stop the hurt to young children…just hope the pope lives long in suffering…

What?? Pray that whatever it is he’s resigning over doesn’t leak to the press??
    Not a chance.

Sillyfman. Doesn’t he realise prayers go unanswered or ignored as we saw last Tuesday in the House of Commons, 400-175 for equal marriage. More catholic MPs voted for than against. They just don’t get it do they?

    1. They have become enthralled with the magnitude of the lies and half-truths of their religion.

Giving an inch to reality corresponds to heresy for them.

WHY would we want to pray for that vile, bigoted, misogynistic nasty little man??!?

Once he has resigned, and is no longer a head of ‘state’ I hope and pray that the International Criminal Court in The Hague prosecutes the vermin for his crimes against humanity.

No, Archbishop but what I am prepared to do is to send some bad karma your way.

  7. He asks people “to keep Pope Benedict in their prayers” but there’s a ridiculous assertion there, Vince, old matey!

Namely, that praying is actually heard and understood by some Great Pixie in the Sky.

And, secondly, that some Great Pixie in the Sky having supposedly heard the mutterings below will actually DO something in response!

Vince thinks he’s showing kindness, but he’s really only showing that he’s deluded, i.e. mentally ill.

    Should be receiving treatment.

  9. I have been praying since they elected him. And today my prayers were answered.

    1. Hopefully, you really meant to say that you’ve just been hoping, rather than wasting time in the futile activity of praying? :-)

Please pray for the child molesters, the bigots, the Christian Brothers, the homophobes, the Hitler Youth Pope, the cover ups, the Magdalen laundries, the vast amassed wealth in spite of world poverty. Yes. Let us pray. Amen.

Oh, I forgot; the subjugation of anyone with an opposing view too. Add to my list to have your own prayers answered. I do miracles in the form of expressive dance.

He’s not in the running at all as he is not a cardinal and the retired homophobic cardinal murthy o Connor can’t vote either – so there is some justice !!

    1. …and O’Brien can hardly walk. He’ll probably need that thing they’ve been using to wheel Ratzinger about.

The only decent thing Pope Benedict did was NOT to make this creep a Cardinal. How he must be seething that he can’t take place in the conclave despite enforcing the anti-gay agenda to the lettter in England and Wales. Dreadful toad of a man!

“Please pray for Pope Benedict XVI”

I have been – why do you think he’s going! :D

Don’t let the door trap your Guccu on the way out, and please, please, take that clown Nichols with you. :)

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Bring on the next homophobic idiot – won’t make any difference, the whole Vatican is like the Titanic – doomed.

  19. Pray for what? “Forgiveness”?

The shame and suffering his silence brought on victims of abuse.

An end to hateful vitriolic rhetoric used against people seeking human rights and equality.

His legacy will be an embarrassment! to many current and former believers.

Fewer truer words will be spoken than these:

“Terry Sanderson, president of the National Secular Society, said: “He has played a major role in reducing the Catholic Church’s popularity and its authority.”

“Catholics have deserted the Church at an increasing rate, repelled by the inhumanity of [his] unbending adherence to what are perceived as cruel doctrines.”

  21. perhaps this is God punishing him for his evil ways by striking him down with illness?

  22. I’ve never understood this kind of exhortation – I mean, if the pope is supposed to be God’s chosen representative on earth, why should he be in need of further random prayers to God? Is it suggested that God has changed his mind with regard to Ratzi (in which case God might be said to be having a belated attack of good sense)?
