Sean Eldridge, an investor and the husband of Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, has filed paperwork establishing a campaign for New York’s 19th Congressional District seat in 2014.
The seat is currently held by Republican Chris Gibson.
Eldridge, a Democrat and advisor of the US campaign group Freedom to Marry, is also president of New York based investment fund Hudson River Ventures.
He and Hughes married last year at their home in New York after announcing their engagement in 2011.
Born in 1986, if Eldridge wins the congressional seat, he’ll be just 27, making him one of the youngest members of Congress in 2014.
Representative Aaron Shock, a Republican from Illinois, was elected to his congressional seat when he was 27. He is now the youngest representative, at age 31.
The story in question was about rapper Azealia Banks, who called blogger Perez Hilton a “messy faggot” and said that he should “kill himself”. Two previous versions of the story had previously been posted without deletion.
