    1. I guess I missed an opportunity. Last night I was over a gay friends house watching the movie Kinsey, who said there is some gay in all of us

I left about 0200 hours after his BF came over and I knew they were going to have a good time together – my gay friend tells me all, I’m trying to insure he doesnt try to commit suiicide fro a 3rd time tks to the crazy xtians

I should have stayed. Oh ymmy, finally – could have gotten fellatio.

  2. I hope people writing these kinds of comparissons will, at some point, realise how incredibly STUPID they look to the rest of the world.

    “beehive of erotic exploration”

Almost poetic. What superb imaginations these extremists have.

That actually sounds really attractive. Tonight I’m going to work on selling the idea to my partner (I don’t think it’ll be hard), then we can shut the curtains, lock the doors and spend all weekend together. Exploring. Erotically. In our beehive.

      Thank f*** it’s Friday, eh?

  5. Someone should collect stuff like this for a coffee table book. Or stick it next to the loo with the Darwin Awards and Great Operatic Disasters.

“… what message would the welcoming of gays into the Boy Scouts send? ‘Gay-play must be OK, or the grown-ups wouldn’t allow us to be camping, swimming, showering, sleeping, horsing around and walking through the woods together!’ ”

    Um…

I’m fairly confident that the Scouts offer neither a “horseplay” badge nor a “romantic walk in the woods” badge, but it seems that in Mr Farber’s mind they do.

If Mr Farber wants to understand this issue, he might consider spending less time developing his imagination with adult films, and more time talking to gay Scouts.

The issue is fundamentally about discriminatory official policy! “Allowing gay scouts” is an excuse those involved in this discussion are using as a smoke screen, conveniently changeing focus..instead they should be to recognizing the obvious points.

Their policy discriminates! this battle cry, “allowing” is a smokescreen

There are and have always been gay scouts! some people knew and it wasn’t an issue, or in other cases people behaved like the military premiss and acted out their own versions DADT!

The current debate happened because of publicity regarding a decision to discriminate and deny a gay eagle scout the honor he earned. Hence the reaction and incensed indignation against a previously unpublicized policy.

Scouts should be able to participate equally and without prejudice about sexuality! But “allowing’ is a flawed and prejudiced defense against what has always been! There has always been gay scouts… but some couldn’t or might never have never be out!

    Accept it!

  11. Another closet case heard from! I suppose he said the same thing about gays in the military. Or is he a pedophile afraid his territory might be invaded. Well, he needn’t worry, most pedophiles are ‘straight’.

To anyone who wants to understand the nature of this phenomenon you could do worse than read Pray the Gay Away (The Extraordinary Lives if Bible Belt Gays) by Bernadette Barton, a lesbian academic, published by New York Unuversity Press. It’ll have some resonance to many in the UK. It’s a fascinating and terrifying and important study of profound fundamentalist homophobia.

  14. “and said that the presence of gay members and staff could make straight members curious about their own sexualities.”

No, love, that’s just YOU. Sort out your issues with your own sexuality.

Don’t these people realise how transparent they are?

  16. To give credit where credit’s due, it is nothing if not an original analogy. Bonkers, admittedly, but original.

Sweet of Farber to be concerned about gays being beaten up, but there are perhaps other, more constructive, ways he could address this “Southern” issue.

This is wonderful! He seriously doesn’t understand he’s just outed himself!

He takes his very personal experience– he dreamed of Gay Sex as a teenager, but didn’t get a chance to act on it– and universalizes it. He just assumes that all boy scouts will be fucking on the camp outs, just like he always dreamed of doing…

Well, it’s not too late! I’m sure Craigslist of Grindr can help you find someone to make those teen fantasies come true!
