    Good on Duff Goldman!

I’ve seen some of the TV show he does and his cakes look amazing. I’m sure he’ll do the brides proud.

ya know – the PROBLEM with this rush to gay marriage is that while everyone is whipping into a frenzy, they’ve forgotten the golden rule of activism: you have to convince the opposition to cooperate at some level, along the way. I fear a major backlash against all this. Sure, you can get married, but no one has to like you. If we’d done CP’s as a reasonable first step, perhaps epopel would’ve had more time to get used to it. Fighting this as an affront to people’s religions is not going to win any friends, ever.

Either something is equal to something else, or it is not.
You can’t be “half-equal”. We are sick of fudges, compromises, hand-me-downs and scraps from the table.

Either give us it all or don’t give us anything.

    4. We in the UK had civil partnerships some years ago – Sir Elton and David Furnish were among the first to take advantage.
Sadly, it did not stop the bigots and haters, and it was only last week that the Commons passed legislation allowing gay marriage, and it has yet to be passed in the Lords. The hurdle can be overcome, by the “nuclear option” of invoking the Parliament Act, but that requires courage on the part of the PM, and I fear Cameron lacks the spine, particularly after polls suggest the Tory grass roots are still the “nasty party” that passed Section 28, the notorious anti-gay legislation that Thatcher presided over.
So I fear you are wrong to think CP’s will “acclimatise” people into accepting gay marriage.

Duff is awesome – he has no problems doing cakes for anyone. The couple will get an amazing cake donated by Duff and delivered by him too. What a wedding gift. Screw the bigots.

If you’re some kind of cleric you may decline service to certain people because of the BS you believe in, fine with me. But a baker refusing to sell a cake?? Gays may have been buying his products for years without him realizing it. His business may suffer, but his God will help him out, I’m sure.

His bigotry is not inherently because he’s a “Christian.” If that were true, all Christians would be bigots by default. Since there are many gay Christians, and gay-affirming Christians, Mr Klein will have to place the blame for his bigotry somewhere other than Christ.

Another prime example of Christians being persecuted… by their own hand. Klein was not performing a same-sex marriage!… He was simply asked to bake a frickin’ CAKE! Like his store advertises. Sometimes we suffer from our own self-induced embarrassment!!

  14. This reminds me of the SA in 1933 (sorry, Godwin’s Law is about to be broken!). Instead of “Kauft nicht beim Juden”, we have “Don’t sell to gays!”
