It’s definitely worth watching the speech live, I was very impressed by the passion with which he delivered it – very inspirational! I’ve watched most of the debate and that’s one of the stand-out speeches for me. I’m not a Tory and I’m not a Mike Freer fan either, after his financial mismanagement when he led Barnet council, but good for him for making this speech.

I can’t disagree with that. How wonderful it’d be if he managed to persuade even one of his colleagues.

Beautifully said with conviction and passion. I raise my glass to Mike Freer and to all those who spoke up in support thus far. Nick Herbert did a very good job too as did Stephen Gilbert. Well done to all.

If Ian Huntley, Peter Sutcliffe and Alan Turing were contempories then Huntley and Sutcliffe would have legal marriage rights and Alan Turing wouldn’t. What an absurd situation.

How does he feel that he is in a minority within his party ie a majority of Tory MP’s remain bigoted pigs

His was a great speech, as was the speech given by David Lammy. Look it up on you tube if you can
