  1. No, simple correlation if one is strictly religious they are much less likely to watch porn therefore the population of people who watch porn have a higher likelihood of not agreeing with religious reasons for being against gay marriage/unions.

“if one is strictly religious they are much less likely to watch porn”

Because of course someone who was strictly religious would tell you if they were watching porn. What do you base your statement on, any research to back it up?

To me, the strictly religious seem to be more involved in sex than they ever openly admit to, just see all the scandals in various religions.

This is just a load of b0ll0x. I don’t see how a “less educated” straight man would be open to gay marriage, its all just a pile of contradictions.

Correction: Straight men who *admit* to watching porn more likely to support equal marriage.

You don’t think a scientist setting out on a six year project might have worked that out first?

If this project was carried out correctly they will have allowed for that likelihood. Do you know that they didn’t?

Useless study. All straight men watch porn. Those who don’t haven’t got broadband and probably haven’t heard about gay marriage.

Straight men who ADMIT they watch porn are less likely to be uptight, religious and have sexual hang ups than straight men who deny they watch porn

  6. I wonder how the results might change if the men were asked “do you think that gay men should be allowed to get married, or lesbians, or both”?

      1. Erm, you nothing about me, what I do, or any other personal details. I guess your just doing this for a reaction aren’t you? For the record I’m a fully trained librarian and hold a PHD Social Policy & Management and I work in the field of social research and I do my field work sexuality and mental health. I also have B.A Degree in P.P.E from Oxford So you come back to me when you have read as many books as I have

And you know nothing about me, but what I do know about you is that you wrote…

          “what a ridiclous article.”

It’s “ridiculous” by the way. I suppose that is education standards for you.

What was your comment supposed to achieve? If you have the background you say you have it is all the more shameful that you saw fit to make that comment.

You don’t have to go to university to read books they are commonly available. So giving us your CV doesn’t really prove a thing. There are tens of thousands of graduates walking around now who can’t tie their shoelaces.

Every man watches porn. The only ones who don’t are the religious nut bags. This has got nothing to do with porn. It’s like saying people who buy tartan are more likely to support Scottish independence. Completely irrelevant bullshit, can’t believe this is ‘news’.

Seeing as str8 porn basically is but injecting jelly into a donut, I can see wny the eye of the viewer would gravitate to the male – that’s where the action is.

I don’t understand. Who would actually bother researching this?! Those who have porridge for breakfast are more likely to enjoy watching Oliver Twist… SERIOUSLY?!

Damn. Wish we’d known before – we could have somehow made it compulsory ! We had to get to the point of getting same-sex marriage approved by fighting tooth and nail those bigoted homophobic church beasts and their ideological cretins, the hard way, over decades, when a bit of porn would done the job. :D

Personally I have a taste for Pastor porn – where one participant is dressed up as a priest, with the other as either a bishop or cardinal. Very exciting ! :)

These are a few chosen headlines from 6 years of research. I am guessing the research was not specifically about gay marriage. I am guessing that they have been following this group over this period to monitor their attitudes to many different things as a way of understanding how watching porn affects people.

This means that they can get the average reply from a group of random males and then get a reply from this group of admitted porn watchers on nearly any subject.

When gay marriage comes up they can ask that question. They can then find that support is higher in this group. But I am only guessing as I know how scientific experiments are organised.

They would have asked many questions of this group before the study started to get an idea of their expected social attitudes. A comparison can then be made.

  15. And how do they know they’re straight? These guys told them so? :D

Because bisexual guys (huge percentage of men) always tell they’re bisexual… right?
