I remember the Tories introducing very similar legislation in the 1980′s. It was called Clause 28. I feel extremely sorry for ordinary Russians, living in a country that is more right-wing than Thatcher’s despised regime and which is at least 30 years behind the times.

Well, what do expect from a backward country historically oppressed by the czars, Communist Party and now run by a former KGB officer like Putin? The general populace is poor, and just getting by for the most part, and drunk on religion, and Vodka. It will take them a millennium to catch up to the rest of Western Europe in terms of positive social and cultural change and social justice.
