Yes, they should. No chance. Even though the election demonstrated how unpalatable they are to people, they are still hammering on their paranoid and ridiculous social policy ideology. Abortion law after abortion law, don’t say gay laws, still pushing the BLAG to stop the DOMA repeal.
This man is an opportunist of the highest order, I doubt he believes what he says, but he knows that the party won’t survive the next decade if they don’t change.
The problem? The GOP got in bed with the evangelical wingnuts around the time of Nixon, and now they have all the power. The lunatics are running the asylum at the GOP.
Good luck with that one, you’re gonna need all the luck you can get!
I have a Mitt Romney cup at home I use for drinking. On the cup it has two quotes:
I bought the cup from an online Democrats website on the Obama re- election campaign.
Oh dear! That should put a large dent in the donations they receive – especially from those old christian fundamentalists.
As an outsider (I live in the UK) my feeling is that yes this party needs to change and that as long as the are backing people like Romney thay are waisting their time. No one will beleive them if they get a man like Romney elected because that asshole will just block any equality laws or reverse any that are already law. he has done that before. Also This party needs to get rid of the haters “Bob Vander Plaats of conservative Christian group The Family Leader was more critical of Mr Kochel, asking on his blog: “[I]s this really what politics is about? Are we really supposed to abandon the core values and principles that have served us well throughout civilization so we can win elections?”
The Republican Party has to modernise if it does not wish to remain in the political wilderness after Barak Obama’s second term is up.
