  1. This is how it works. Money talks. Just like the BSA potentially preparing to back down because they are losing funding, these powerful businesses are able to apply real pressure while politicians hold back.

Would be wonderful to see a similar campaign right here in the UK. Corporate money gets the attention of politicians especially when elections roll around. I bet if a number of influential businesses in the UK started their own campaign, some of those bigoted Tory backbenchers might conveniently evolve. This is one area where you’d think StonewallUK would have been interested in.

  3. This is wonderful progress. When respected, responsible, high-profile businesses make public commitments to marriage equality. When business speaks, Congress takes note.

If faced with having to choose between companies who discriminate us and those who show their support guess who gets my custom? As Robert says above, it would be good to see something similar here. Big business can choose to operate ethically and morally without it affecting their shareholders dividends. Acting decently can generate a great deal of goodwill and attract custom from consumers who care where they spend their money. Of course some customers may be alienated by this but who needs their money when you’re on the side of the angels, so to speak.

Great to see this. Hope this has some effect and helps to pass the Respect for Marriage Act.
