  1. Will the Irish Government take any notice of this poll or will they, as I suspect, hide behind their fear of Rome and not do anything?

I would then urge Ireland to take note of Spain, a predominantly Catholic country who have also stuck two fingers up to the Pope and Rome and said “all our people are equal in marriage, regardless of sexual orientation”.

    1. Almost Everyone there in Ireland hates the church for the endless molestation and torture of children. The worlds most catholic country is going to shove a my cross – made out of two dildoes up the pope’s derrrier and it will be all over for the wests version of islam.

Now if Comres were conducting the poll, the figure would be 73% against wouldn’t it? Good for Ireland. The catholic cult’s days of power are numbered. Bring it on, Ireland.

  3. 75% of Irish people supporting marriage for “homos” is one hell of slap in the face for those delusionals swishing around the gilt-laden corridors of the Vatican!

I can see Benny summoning an Extraordinary Meeting of his cardinals, lighting the candles, dishing out the rosaries, stuffing incense into every thurible in sight, and kicking off with an all-night vigil for the intercession of the Virgin Mary and all the saints, so as to overcome this vile horror in Ireland, England, Wales, France, and elsewhere!

Fit them better they had “an Extraordinary Meeting of his cardinals, lighting the candles, dishing out the rosaries, stuffing incense into every thurible in sight, and kicking off with an all-night vigil for the intercession of the Virgin Mary and all the saints,” so as to overcome this vile horror of clerical paedophilia in Ireland, We have yet to see the same passion and fervour displayed against the horror that is the systematic rape and abuse of little children world wide by Ratzi the naz1 and his vile paedophile minions… They should be summarily ejected from every country on this planet and made to pay the highest price imaginable for their crimes….

      1. I agree! I agree!

i cN AEE THAt ahole bennie using his rosary beads as anal beads, – enjoying them as they slide out of his decrepit lower end of his alimentary canal.

    1. Thanks for that link, Robert. Have emailed it to a number of relations still beloved of dear old Mother Ireland.

        You are welcome, Eddy!

    @D McCabe…
….. your knowledge of the Irish government and peoples attitude to the Roman Paedophile cult is badly in need of updating. The Irish government closed the Irish embassy tom the Vatican two years ago and the Papal nuncio is only here on suffrage and could be ejected at any moment were he to stick his nose where it isn’t wanted. Ireland is probably one of Europes most secular countries and is rapidly catching up with countries like Sweden and Finland in the speed it is becoming atheist. The days when the RCC held sway in Ireland are thankfully long dead and no one under 65 is in any way sorry to see the end of such blatant evil that blighted peoples lives for so long…….

  5. So bloody legalise it then!

    1. ...Paddyswurds 29 Jan 2013, 12:27pm

Probably will be legalised in the next 12 months, as by then the Constitutional Convention will have confirmed that there isn’t a constitutional bar on same sex marriage.

  6. PN, please make your reporting a bit more accurate !

A rise from 63% to 75% is an increase of 12 POINTS, but actually represents an increase in support of 19 PER CENT.

  7. Well Faith and Begorrah .. or something! Couldn’t find a translation for Oh Happy Day… but here is a good one:
Give me the same as the man on the floor!
Tabhair dom an rud céanna mar atá ag an fhear ar an t-úrlar!

  8. Great news. The Constitutional Convention should finally be reporting its recommendations in a few weeks, and there has been a promise that all 12 issues under discussion will be debated on, voted on, or put to a referendum.

Lovely to know that bar a freak situation, a (as I’m lead to believe) compulsory referendum isn’t going to be a scary experience.

Enda Kenny isn’t a particularly vocal LGBT advocate, but his anger at the Vatican these past years has made him suitably neutral on this issue for it to be likely to become law.

As a cultural two-fingers to the Vatican this could only be rivaled by similar legislation in Italy. It doesn’t get much more personal.

  9. That is a clear mandate to allow equal marriages in Ireland!

Here in Australia 66% of people support gay marriage – the same as the French!

All of Western Europe (except for Italy of Course) will have gay marriage by 2015!

Germany, Finland, Northern Ireland and Switzerland will NOT have gay marriage – because of Conservative led Coalitions within Government seats of there Parliaments controlling Government!

Both France and the UK (not Northern Ireland of course) will have gay marriage by late 2014 – if it passes there parliament by the end of this year!

Ireland sometime next week will announce the policy on same sex marriage at a consultation all convention!

Portugal will vote on a bill sometime this year to allow both gay adoption and IVF parentage for lesbians (this is so-called unfinished business from the 2010 equal marriage laws)!

  10. its my understanding that in april there will be a vote on changing the constitution to allow gays full marriage equality

Hopefully the hierarchy of the church of endless hidden molestation of children by its sex starved prison mentalitgy priests – will self immolate

Coujldnt happen to a more deserving bunch
