  1. I am delighted that Ireland is showing signs of free thinking with regards to equality. Ironically, this is partially due to the disdain in which the once all-powerful RC church is now held as a result of the many pedophile scandals.

    Yes, now is the time for the Irish to really break free of the oppresive RC church and decide to chose to legislate for equality.

  5. Amazing when you think how powerful the catholic church once was. But the Irish government, like many others around the world, understands you can never have true ‘democracy’ while organised religion maintains the status of a political party. If they want power, let them stand for election like the rest of us. Oh yes. And paying some tax would be nice …..
