Medvedev is Prime minister of Russia now (again), and Putin President (also again). Its interesting, that on 22.1, when debates on this piece of law was delayed, one supporter of this bill has say, that ‘some very important state man is against this law’. It can be only Medvedev, who has express his opposition to this in December (‘not all moral issues must be regulating by law’). And on 23.1 Medvedev was in Davos. His absence in Moscow was good opportunity for anti-gay camp push this law now. With clear support from Kreml, of course.

      1. Thanks P. P. for your knowledgeable insights ! I don’t think Medieval or whatever his name is can really stop this band wagon . Lots of Russians are just tooo primitive . Inshar allah legislative persecution will stop with this anti proproganda “law” and gay people will be able to enjoy their lives privately . But is a bad omen and ugly !

Will letters of Tchaikowsky to his lovers also be censored as ‘propaganda of homosexuality’ (as poems and novels of Michail Kuzmin too)? Now I understand, why he has commit suicide.

    Post a reply →
    1. It wasn’t his homosexuality that got Tchaikowsky into trouble but his failure to keep his mouth shut about other scandals concerning Mamontov (sava and Sergei ) and sheremetyvaskaya that “caused” his death !

    1. The “church” in any country is always a gay hater ! Frankly I would not trust them even when they appear to be more liberal ! They are pliant so you will be piant and fall for their bag of tricks !

This from a country about to host the world for the Winter Olympics… and we know that there are NO gay athletes going, right?

Will they be arrested in the streets?

They will be sent home if they kiss eachother with passion- or dare to dance together ! If they are taken by surprise by the police when doing this- and nobody else is present ; The Police will rape them or beat them up–

  10. WTF !! Lately it seem not only in gay stuff but russia has been acting strange, First saying Americans cant adopt russian children, yet America being a country that is very well known for adoption, NOW saying the west teaching’s are corrupting their youth to express sexuality. Yea right. And they have been having a problem with low birth rate. So they think pushing people in the closet is going to make gay men like pussy. Being that they are acting like this, countries who are pro gay or are passing laws for gay marriage, civil unions and discrimination laws will rethink their relationship with russia. Im an American and us going threw a big time in America for gay rights of all kinds something like what russia is doing with put Obama on bad terms with russia.

  11. Russians politicians must be into the Vodka and pot again when they pass this silly law again!

    What is “gay propaganda” anyway?

    Please explain to me again!

Why are bigots so blantenly obsessed with gay sex and gay propaganda issues?!

  12. What a scary country just on the border of Europe! The Orthodox Church, be it Russian, Serbian, etc are not placid and in many ways they are just as, if not more homophobic than the Catholic Church. with these anti-gay laws, I will never holiday in this country!

How about a law banning any positive mention of or advertising about Russia as “propaganda”?

That would serve these bigots right.

In Russia the expression “gay propaganda” is aiming at ordinary information about gay and transgender people. An example: if you say that being gay is valuable and positive, and that homosexuals should accept themselves and their love-life, it is considered “gay propaganda” when you spread these words in public or distribute your opinionon in a written pamphlet. It is considered “gay propaganda” if you stand in a market place talking loud and openly that you and your friends are arranging a party for gays and lesbians in your home–and that all friendly persons are welcome ,whether they are gay or not. In short the law intends to degrade gays in a judicial way, in order to portray us as “sick”and unwanted -mentally disturbed– and reducing gays ability to gain ordinary Human Rights. I.E. reducing their chances to promote what we in UK and Norway take as granted ; to tell openly about ourselves and live proudly and content with our identity.(The consequences will be more hatred,)—–

This seems to be designed to give those in power more leverage for Blackmail and politically motivated arrest, rather like the KGB used in the west in the 1950′s: Infiltrate the Gay community, use your knowledge to get them to do your bidding, if they refuse have them arrested and shamed in the eyes of the “Law”. But then, what do you expect when a former KGB officer is President?

    1. They copied that from the British !
