  1. The point was more that Dredd’s sexuality isn’t really important because he has no personal life.

The only character Dredd’s had a romantic relationship with was the female Judge DeMarco, in “The Pit” storyline.

I’m all for more LGBT+ characters in comics, and 2000AD has over the years been pretty groundbreaking in many respects, but I don’t think we’re going to see Dredd’s other helmet taking off any time soon.

I don’t see the point in this. Judge Dredd should remain completely asexual IMO, married to his job. Otherwise the whole emotionless way he reacts towards the situations he encounters doesn’t quite ring true.

If they want to introduce another judge who is gay that’s another thing, as the other judges have been shown to have lives and desires in the past. But I don’t think it should be Dredd.

  3. “Everybody rise coz here come de judge … out of the closet” :)
BTW. I wish we could all get used to using ‘CE’ (Common Era) instead of ‘AD’ (Anno Domini – The Year of Our Lord) which is obviously a religious term.

    1. 2000AD didn’t change name when the year 2000 came about. I don’t think they’re likely to change it to CE now.

Anyway, I’ve heard people claim that CE stands for “Christian Era”, so that doesn’t help…

    2. Presumably you also campaign for the rebranding of January and Thursday, named as they are after pagan gods?

  4. ‘Marvel ‘s Northstar, the first openly gay hero’

Why is Pink News so bad at conducting research?

  5. GLBT support does come from the oddest sources, doesn’t it? I love that this is annoying people. Anyone who burns their comics because of this really needs to get a life.

  6. So a fiercely heterosexual judgemental right winger gets papped embracing a twink in a gaybar?

Wow the geeks and 50 year old virgins will be frothing at the mouth over this non story.

  8. Social engineering crap
